It's also worth noting that the Truman has been on deployment for nearly eight months and has been extended on station at least once. Factor in these mishaps, and I'm betting morale on that ship is in the toilet.
The equipment on that ship is aging out pretty quick, I know only 3 or 4 carriers are deployed with the rest in refit at any given time, with an average deployment of 8 months before it goes into a 14 month refit cycle (from what I've seen on YouTube vids and confirmed with some quick searches). It SHOULD be going back to port RIGHT NOW for updates, replacement of worn equipment, and crew training.

The journalists Jake Tapper of CNN and Alex Thompson of Axios have written a book named "Original Sin." They are discussing and describing in this book how Joe Biden's advisors tried to ignore or cover up Biden's physical and mental decline.

The book does not contain anything astonishing that changes broad reception, but is more anecdotical. Also most sources are kept anonymous, because they still do fear it seems the long arm of the Dems.

During his 2020 campaign Biden repeatedly forgot and confused names of people he had known for years, like Mike Donilon who as aide worked for him since the 1980s, George Clooney (who was so shocked about it that he later wrote an essay in NYT asking Biden to drop out), Xavier Becerra and so on. People described him as fragile and worried he might need a wheelchair in his second term. Also cabinet gatherings were mostly scripted. Mike Quigley, a Democrat from Illinois, described Biden's physical abilities on his trip to Ireland similar to his own father who was dying of Parkisons's disease.

So far Biden's team has not made any comment upon it, they are going to review it once it comes out.

Former FBI director James Comey is being investigated by the Secret Service after he shared then deleted a social media post, which Republicans alleged was an incitement to violence against President Donald Trump.

Comey posted on Instagram a photo of seashells that spelled the numbers "8647", which he captioned: "Cool shell formation on my beach walk."

The number 86 is a slang term whose definitions include 'to reject' or 'to get rid of', according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, which also notes that it has more recently been used as a term meaning 'to kill'.

Trump is the 47th US president. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem alleged the message was a call for the assassination of Trump, but Comey said he opposed violence.

What the fuck is wrong with this timeline? Has anyone checked the tattoos on his fingers?

I don't understand, just some random scattered shells.

It's not like it's a truck tailgate vinyl image of a sitting President hog tied in a truck bed or something.

Since when does "86" mean "kill?" I've always heard it used in reference to stores and restaurants ousting and banning unruly customers. Never in reference to unaliving anyone!
Also used in restaurants to indicate a dish is sold out. "Tuna salad is 86!!"

Not for assassinating anyone, though. Not even the unruly ones.

I remember "86 it" was synonymous with "Round file it". (round file = waste paper bin)

Google pointed at some amusing origins. Given that it seems to be mostly related to the restaurant biz, the first might be the most likely.

  • 86 Bedford Lane was the secret entrance to a particular speakeasy in prohibition... and 86 proof was common for whiskey. throwing someone out if they had too much was '86ing' them.
  • Rotary Phone alphabet: T=8, O=6. TO being an obscure military shorthand for "Throw Out"
  • Eighty Six = cockney rhyming slang for "nix"

When I was stationed at Fallon, Nevada, the entire county had three phone prefixes. 426 was the base, 423 was the City of Fallon and Churchill County east of Fallon, and 867 was Churchill County west of Fallon.

Yes, 867-5309 was an actual number.
Yes, someone had that number.
No, her name was not Jenny.
No, she was not amused.
