As their majority wanes, their contempt for and attacks on our democratic process will escalate.

They're going to resort to more and more extreme political brinksmanship to undermine our political process and find ways to entrench themselves in positions of power.

It's past time for the left to start acting like the right keeps saying we do, and actually form a McCarthy-esque witch hunt to root out christian nationalists and fascists from our government, education and media.

This one is just weird. These parents complained about a 2nd grade homework assignment where, among other things, kids were asked to have a photo taken of themselves doing homework in a bathtub. The teacher was quick to explain after the complaint that they should be dressed for this and not actually taking a bath; which in hindsight is a little obvious since I'm sure they weren't being encouraged to risk ruining their school textbook by getting it wet - so maybe not a big concern? But then after a lot of "we've been doing this assignment for years and you're the only ones who ever complained" from the school admins, their daughter was abruptly expelled. Despite the parents claiming to have been adamant they didn't want to withdraw her from the school.

It's a private Christian school, btw.

I don't like the way federal courts in the US have just absolutely capitulated on the issue of antitrust.

I mean, it's not news - I feel like the very last genuine, principled antitrust case that ever happened in the US came in the 90's against Microsoft, but ever since then enormous companies have been SHAMELESSLY gobbling up competitors and nobody cares unless there's some political angle to exploit.

And then Bush's justice department dropped it on the floor. I still say someone should have gone to jail for Internet Explorer, "Active Desktop", and .NET.

And handful of Asian news aggregator sites and hardcore anti-China sites are repeating this:


...but they're all reposts of the exact same story, I can't find the origin, and wider global newsmedia isn't picking up on it. Might be phony conspiracy baloney. It's difficult to tell because Chinese media would never let such a story be reported domestically, or internationally by domestic sources, if it was true.
