Avenatti has always been a giant asshole so this isn't surprising.

But also it would equally make sense if this were a false accusation given how much the right relies on projection for everything.

We'll see what comes of the investigation I guess. Basically there's not enough information about the incident for anyone not involved to come to any specific conclusion.

One thing that is important to remember though is that Wohl is crowing over this so that itself is a reason to mistrust it since he is a literal con artist. The right wing does this all the time. Do something that dominates the headlines then a few weeks later the actual truth is revealed and the retractions are on page 10 so no one pays any attention to them.

Interesting web site. They don't seem to list any sponsors this year, and only the first year appears to have a connection to an international professional organization (IEEE). Funny how what appears to be a struggling conference invites a NAZI and has to close because butthurt.

A once-respected academic games conference has turned into such a dumpster fire that Steve Bannon is keynoting it now

Then he quietly merged the conference with the Congress on Love and Sex With Robots, without informing the presenters or attendees,
Entirely out of context, this makes this wingnut seem like our kind of guy.

If he wants to join I'd welcome him with open arms. We could use a better Bubba. Or, you know, a Bubba.

It must really suck to be Julian Assange. Here you spend all that time fretting that Hillary Clinton wants to arrest and/or kill you, and expend all that effort raining on her political campaign and working to get Trump elected instead, and then Trump's Justice Department goes and charges you anyway.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been charged under seal, prosecutors inadvertently revealed in a recently unsealed court filing — a development that could significantly advance the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election and have major implications for those who publish government secrets.

The disclosure came in a filing in a case unrelated to Assange. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kellen S. Dwyer, urging a judge to keep the matter sealed, wrote that “due to the sophistication of the defendant and the publicity surrounding the case, no other procedure is likely to keep confidential the fact that Assange has been charged.” Later, Dwyer wrote the charges would “need to remain sealed until Assange is arrested.”

Dwyer is also assigned to the WikiLeaks case. People familiar with the matter said what Dwyer was disclosing was true, but unintentional.

Joshua Stueve, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of Virginia said, “The court filing was made in error. That was not the intended name for this filing.”

An FBI spokeswoman declined to comment.
Derp!

It's actually kind of fascinating; because the case filing in which the accidental disclosure was made, would seemingly have nothing to do with Assange -

The filing in the Eastern District of Virginia came Aug. 22 in a case that combines national security and sex trafficking. Seitu Sulayman Kokayi, 29, was charged with enticing a 15-year-old girl to have sex with him and send him pornographic images of herself. But he was detained in part because he “has a substantial interest in terrorist acts,” according to the court filing.

His father-in-law, according to the filing, has been convicted of terrorist acts. The case involves previously classified information, according to government filings, and prosecutors plan to use information obtained under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. Kokayi was indicted last week and is set to be arraigned Friday morning.
But Assange has to have SOME kind of connection to this case in order for his name to pop up in such a way, surely? So feel free to speculate on what the connection might be, I guess.

But it does look like he was right all along. The UK is not well-known for refusing US extradition requests...
