All I know is, I'm glad to see a moment like this actually broadcast.
The event is a lightning rod for everything Trump. His lies, his mendacity, his theatrics, his opportunism, as well as the incredibly frustrating way he turns any situation to his advantage in a way that no other leadership figure has managed to do.The more I think about this, the more uncomfortable I am about the "false flag" explanation.
The best excuse to argue for calling it a false flag operation is because Trump deserves it.Logic does not quell this theory because it doesn't root out the source of the feelings behind it.
This perfectly explains my thoughts and feelings about this incident. If it wasn't staged, it sure conveniently and coincidentally fed right into Trump's "need" for a fortified ballroom, even though we, as a nation, managed to get along just fine without one for the last 249 years. The event is a lightning rod for everything Trump. I will readily confess that saying "It's faked" is less about what I truly believe and more about venting frustration and exasperation with Trump's ability to exploit tragedy (or potential tragedy) for his own agenda. It's an explosion of rage about how easily this attack played into Trump's narrative about his ballroom.
This incident landed heavily on the "how very convenient for him" scale in any number of ways. Heavily enough to earn an arched brow of skepticism. Whether or not that skepticism is grounded in reality, it's still there for some valid reasons. It's a temperature reading of the country.
Logic does not quell this theory because it doesn't root out the source of the feelings behind it.
This. Everything, this. This is absolute perfection. I added the transcript below.
“We do have breaking news out of Washington, D.C.: No one cares! That’s the real story here — literally no one cares. Everyone thinks this is fake because of course they do, because everything is fake. Everything is spectacle and theatrics, which isn’t a new thing in politics or media. But the laziness and lack of seriousness with which this circus of an administration is operating has certainly made apathy a mainstream response to it.
I mean, he bombed a girls’ school in Iran and hasn’t owned up to it yet. Of course no one cares that someone allegedly tried to off him. He teamed with a genocidal maniac to start a war that will not only cost thousands of lives, it’ll also collapse the entire world economy for no reason. Why would we care?
Why would we care about yet another half-assed assassination attempt? He has done all in his power to destroy the entire Western world order and strengthened Russia and China in the process. Oh no, someone tried to shoot the president again just as his poll numbers are tanking. Oh, what a coincidence.
Everything is fake. Everything he touches, everyone he surrounds himself with, are fake. Fake lips, fake tits, fake gold, fake pools, fake Bible verses — for crying out loud. False promises to voters, false prophets in his cabinet, false flags for the cameras. And if I may say so, a somewhat sub-par acting from the cast.
"This time I just wanna go home." Fine, see you soon. What a great idea, Erica — you should go home and stay there. No one cares anymore.
Maybe that’s the point. I don’t know. Not to convince you of anything, not to win — just make reality so exhausting… so exhausting to hold onto that we just give in and play along.
Or maybe it is a sad attempt at getting support and funding for his ridiculous ballroom. It probably… Yeah, this is the end… of news.”
If this is a conspiracy, I don't understand what Cole Allen's role in is supposed to be. He can't have been in on it, because then he'd knowingly have put himself at risk of a long prison sentence (and, if something went wrong, getting killed during the staged attack).
He DID knowingly put himself at risk of either prison or death. There is no other outcome for what he was doing, regardless of his motives. Did he really think he could get far enough to inflict meaningful damage on Trump or the administration? That goal was certainly... aspirational. If this is a conspiracy, I don't understand what Cole Allen's role in is supposed to be. That's what I meant. I can see why Cole Allen would knowingly put himself at risk of death or imprisonment if it was a genuine assassination attempt. He DID knowingly put himself at risk of either prison or death. It would actually make more sense (low bar) to take part in a staged event than to just throw your life away for a gesture that has no impact.
After a few days of munching popcorn over all the speculation, I've landed on the "not a staged event" side of the argument. But I have to admit that it's an uneasy choice because there are so many dubious loose ends any way you look at this situation. Nothing quite makes sense. I'll guess I'll chalk that up to "life is messy."
