I triple-checked; this is not an Onion story

The moment was even captured on video at a recent screening of the movie, which was attended by Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson. On the carpet, the two were approached by an Access Hollywood reporter who informed them of the family relation to Rogers, which was evidently uncovered by the family genealogy website Ancestry.com.

According to Ancestry, Tom Hanks and Rogers share a common relative in a man named Johannes Meffert, who was born in 1732. The surname spelling was then changed to Mefford when the bloodline split, with one family tree eventually leading to Hanks while the other led to Rogers. This would mean that Tom Hanks and Fred Rogers are actually sixth cousins, a fact which had been lost to time over the course of several generations. While the connection is certainly very interesting when considering Hanks is playing Rogers in an all-new movie, it's ultimately not particularly shocking, as both Hanks and Rogers are also very well-known as two of the most wholesome celebrities in history.

Initially, Wilson had trouble buying the report, suggesting the reporter was pulling their leg about the apparent relation. Of course, that quickly changed when presented with the Ancestry information, leaving her pleasantly surprised.

I have to buy a used car and remember the movie Used Cars. The first few moments of dialog.

Manuel approaches.

Here's my inventory.
It's a picture of 250 cars.
253 cars.
I can't make a deal out of a picture like this. You don't want to buy cars? How bout some girls. I've got all kinds. Short, tall, fat, ugly, bonitas, senoritas.

Then cut to a scene with a Polish guy at the lot across the street. It is owned by the evil brother who also plays the good father they stick underground in the lot later. The good dealer throws a fishing line with a $10 bill on it to lure him in where he nearly gets killed by traffic crossing the street.

Hey. Hi there. Is this your $10? I saw it floating under your car. What's your name?

Stanley Duwowski

Hey what a coincidence. Polish eh? Rudy Polanski, how are you?

That is the first couple of minutes. So politically incorrect. So funny.

Home produced Christmas advert by a family-owned and run small hardware store.

Cost £100 to produce.

Impressive, to say the least.

Looks super fun, but I don’t understand how it fits with the other DCEU movies that have flat out said she wasn’t out Wonder Woman-ing it up in recent memory. Even if Steve(?) dies again in this one, and then she gives up being a hero for a few decades, people would still remember her from the 80s.

I am pretty sure they have loosened the reigns on individual movies now that they are downplaying the DCEU.
