He was the Musk of his time, a real twat. But the press back then was more enamored of his technological progress than how he delt with the people around him, including employees. For example, to combat the rise of A/C current (which could be extended much further out than the D/C current he was wedded to) he had regular, travelling shows where he electrocuted dogs to demonstrate A/C's dangers.
It means he thinks Skynet is a cool idea and we really need to hand over the planet to it ASAP.
