I'll be interested to see how well his commitment to free speech stands up when the government of the PRC start complaining about unhelpful and defamatory threads in Twitter about their treatment of Uyghurs and other minorities, their activities in Hong Kong, and their plans for Taiwan.

If they decide to sanction his Tesla factory there, he's got a big problem.

He's already had to backtrack to advertisers since they don't want their material next to hate speech. Twitter only made a profit twice. With the amount of debt Musk took on to purchase the company he can't lose too much on it.

Even if Musk got a bargain interest rate, he's gotta have Twitter making at least that much profit just to make enough to cover interest payments. Or he slashes costs (employees, buildings) to create a "profit" where there is none. Personally, I think that he and his investors are going to lose every penny they've put in.
