Yes, oddly enough. I was going by the show titles when I called them pet shows. Then, when I actually turned to the channel, I found animated animals cooking things. So . . . yes.
Oh, you should give this show a try:

It's a cooking show on Netflix.

Living in north wales now I go out of my way to avoid claiming englishness, not that it isn't plain to anyone speaking to me. I'll use my home town or county or phrases like "Originally I come from England"

For me "English" is welded forever to flag waving NF supporters and football hooligans. Im British first, but only because some etonian w*****s took my identity of "European" away from me. As a european I could claim citizenship, as a Brit I am merely a 'subject'. Another term that gives me the rages.
While I obviously don't know your personal circumstances, I think you are almost certainly a British citizen rather than a British subject.

The politics of envy.
Perhaps, but with public school systems getting the shaft usually, I can understand the sentiment. Why should they get a tax break?

For clarity, is that the British definition of Public School and Private School, or the American? I get terribly confused, and can't be the only one who gets tripped up on the difference when reading.

It's the British definition of Public School, so it's actually Private. We just do this to mess with the foreigners (see also 'cookies').

Side note: Scotland’s public schools are as expected, no fees attached.

I suspect "public" in Britain probably derives from not being church-affiliated, i.e. open to all faiths.

I should look it up!

ETA: I was close: The Wikipedia blurb is:
In England and Wales, a public school is a type of fee-charging private school[1] originally for older boys. They are "public" in the sense of being open to pupils irrespective of locality, denomination or paternal trade or profession; nor are they run for the profit of a private owner.

The politics of envy.
Do you think so? Labour have said the policy is intended to raise money to train 6,500 more teachers that everyone seems to agree we need.

The money to train the these extra teachers has to come from somewhere, and whenever Labour make any sort of spending commitment, both their political opponents and the media want to know how they intend to fund it. This is Labour's answer to that particular question, and it's an answer that polls a lot better than options like increasing income tax or VAT, or cutting spending elsewhere, doubtless because it won't affect most people and most of the people it will affect are at least perceived as being able to pay it.

I don't think it's motivated by envy so much as by a desire to raise needed funds in a way that upsets far fewer people than would increasing income tax or fuel duty or something.

How would you rather they funded these extra teachers?

“We met a guy who said he was going to vote Labour but wouldn’t now because he had just heard that we were taxing condoms,” said Labour’s Karl Turner, who was first voted in as the MP for Hull East in 2010 and is standing for re-election this time.

“I said, ‘condoms?’ ‘Yeah,’ he said: ‘I just heard on that [pointing to the TV] that you are taxing condoms, and I’m not having it. You’re not getting my vote.’ It was Terence [Turner’s parliamentary assistant] here who worked it out.

“‘We’re taxing non-doms, not condoms,’ I said. ‘Oh,’ he said. ‘Like the prime minister’s wife? Ah.’ He calls out: ‘Margaret: they’re taxing non-doms, not condoms.’”
