Starting to get mean.

With Joe Biden running a near-flawless presidency that is capable, progressive, and popular, his leftist and socialist detractors, who spent an entire year hounding him as a milquetoast moderate, have a new strategy: claim, as Donald Trump did for the spread of COVID, that “no one could have predicted” that Biden would turn out to be a progressive president, that his lean-in economic progressivism is a surprise, and that they made him do it.

I, too, have a new message: they’re full of it.

The funny thing to me is, those are the same ones who bemoan that it wasn't Bernie.

And Bernie said before the election that Biden would be on the FDR levels of progressive.

I guess his worshippers didn't get the memo.

Or the memo that you cannot judge a VP's politics entirely on that of the President they are serving with.

The Biden administration appears to be planning to go big with investments in American families with his next major legislative push.

"White House officials are closing in on a large spending plan centered on childcare, paid family leave, and other domestic priorities, according to two people aware of internal discussions. The package could amount to at least $1 trillion of new spending and tax credits, though details remain fluid," The Washington Post reported Monday. "The 'American Families Plan,' the second part of the administration's 'Build Back Better' agenda, is expected to be unveiled ahead of President Biden's joint address to Congress on April 28, the people said. It follows the approximately $2 trillion jobs and infrastructure plan the White House introduced earlier this month that is just beginning to be debated by Congress."
"While details remained in flux, the White House's newest plan is expected to call for roughly $1 trillion in new spending and approximately $500 billion in new tax credits, according to the people aware of the internal discussions. The people spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations," the newspaper reported. "The measure is expected to be largely if not fully paid for with new tax hikes centered on upper-income Americans and wealthy investors, the people said. The details of those tax measures remained unclear."

They were awful on Twitter. Parroting and amplifying every right wing slur about Biden, and pushing the whole Tara Reade story. It was like they thought it they could get enough 💩 to stick to Biden it would magically have made Bernie the candidate again. And if it didn't, they didn't care if they stuck us with Goofus for another four years (probably self-righteously say that we'd "deserve it").

Biden Scores Highest Youth Approval of Any President in Decades
For a 78-year-old president who consistently polled poorly among young voters during the 2020 Democratic primary, Joe Biden is posting some of the highest approval ratings from the demographic of any other president going back more than two decades.

The newest poll of young Americans aged 18-29 from the Institute of Politics at the Harvard Kennedy School shows that 59% of 18-29-year-olds approve of President Joe Biden's job in the White House, with his highest approval marks coming from young people of color, including 77% of young Black people and 70% of young Hispanic people.
Wow.

Apparently not all beer is plant-based. I guess this is a breakfast beer.

I thought oenophiles were bad but craft beer enthusiasts are worse

Notes: Evoking a complete diner-style breakfast in a glass, Maple Bacon Coffee Porter is a complex beer with a multitude of flavors at play. It pours an opaque ebony brew with a frothy tan head. Aromas of sticky maple syrup, coffee, and cream creep forth from the glass. The mouth feel is luxuriously creamy, with layers of sweet malt, toffee, and roast giving way to waves of smoke, coffee, and salted chocolate. It finishes sticky, rich, and sweet, with the flavor of maple syrup lingering pleasantly on the tongue.

(Yes, I used to enjoy craft beers, too, but really).

Mixing coffee and beer sounds like a great way to get a headache.
