They are, however, indomitable.
lmao @ Matt Moneymaker. He's an idiot. There's this show called Finding Bigfoot than ran for 9 seasons on Animal Planet and it's probably not a spoiler to say that the show's title is a lie and they never found bigfoot; but they had to get 9 seasons worth of video of something, so they did interviews and "research" and "hunts" in the woods and a lot of times were very emphatic that they had almost found bigfoot. The show starred members of a real-life bigfoot-hunting group called the BFRO and although they had to do a lot of recreations and fake a lot of the "findings" for the show (because otherwise there would be no show), they really do think bigfoot is real and they want to be taken seriously and wanted the show to be taken seriously, and as has always been the case with all of this Discovery schlock since the beginning, a lot of people have taken the show and the things said in it at face value.
But screw that show. There's another show you have to know about, and it's called Mountain Monsters, and it's a way better show. It is a parody that is played 100% straight, and free from the constraint of trying to front and make you believe that bigfoot or any of the other animals or paranormal creatures they hunt are real, the show is actually an entertaining blast and while they also never manage to capture a clear and close image of the beasts they look for, they find them all the time and it is always great.
I think you should find and watch the show, but if not, at the very least watch this video about it:
We found what’s-her-name.
Black bears, harrumph. The idea that North America is home to a completely unknown primate species just doesn't seem to go away. Years after everyone started walking around with high-quality cameras in their phones, there still haven't been any clear images of a bigfoot. But that hasn't stopped a steady flow of purported sightings.
Now, someone named Floe Foxon has followed up on an earlier analysis and checked for factors that could influence the frequency of bigfoot sightings throughout North America. The results suggest that there's a strong correlation between sightings and the local black bear population—for every 1,000 bears, the frequency of bigfoot sightings goes up by about 4 percent.
Obvious conclusion: Bigfoot feeds on black bears. This is SO WRONG WRONG WRONG.
Study finds bigfoot sightings correlate with black bear populations
The big conclusion: “If bigfoot is there, it could be a bear.”…arstechnica.com
