This woman was an icon of decency and what being an American is. She helped pave the way for millions to lead a good life, an equal life which would help them escape from abuse and poverty and oppression. How much have YOU coughed up to raise and help those unborn once born?

We can start with Pelosi telling McConnell and DJT that the budget resolution and the second round of stimulus are off the table if they so much as advance a name.
I thought the 2nd round of stimulus was already off the table?

Was talking to Tigress last night and mentioned that we were fucked wif a sandpaper condom because of this, and she mentioned that she doesn’t think they can push a new nomination through before the installation of a new president.

The good news is: he only has one judge - two with the RBG replacement. There is a good chance the GOP appointed judges before those two are against making the US a Russian sattelite just like their Democrat appointed peers.

One of my family members burst out with "OMG, oh no! !" I said, "What is it?" After she told me, my heart just dropped. The hits keep coming. The stars keep aligning in a way that this evil bastard keeps getting opportunities. Then, I thought of all the people who will lose their civil rights, all the people who will continue to be ground down by corporate overlords, all of the women who will be forced to bear children even if it means they might die and have no means to support them (see, corporate overlords) and my heart sank even more.

What if, just what if, the election ends up in front of the Supreme Court like it did in 2000? He will have picked three of the people judging him. Or, rather the Heritage Foundation/Federalist Society will have.

If, for some reason, we are able to prevent him from installing someone prior to the election, it's going to draw out all of the evangelicals/anti-abortion folks to vote for him, where they might have stayed home.

This is a disaster of monumental proportion and I loathe those who in 2016 could not see what could happen to the Supreme Court, or just didn't care.

This was bound to happen sooner or later. It just shows how fucked up the whole system of finding judges for the Supreme Court of the United States really is, and that it should really be scrapped and rebuild from scratch with more democratic elements builtin.

Most important the life long membership should be dumped. They should have a certain time span instead without the possibility of re-election.

I'm not advocating for it, either, but historically, when push comes to shove, us liberals always kick the hell out of conservatives. They like to shout fire and brimstone, and they might take a battle here and there, but they don't know how to win a war. We beat them in the civil war. We beat them to get an 8 hour work day, laws against child labor, and the right to unionize. We beat them in the civil rights movement. We can do it again, if we have to. I don't think we have to, but you know... if we did have to, we could do it.

So, I cried last night. For that strong, courageous woman and her enduring legacy. Then I watched Maddow and cried some more. For my kids, for women, for minorities, for workers, for America.

Then I heard what Mitch said...and read what Martha McSally Tweeted. And THEN I donated to Amy McGrath, Captain Mark Kelly and Joe Biden's campaign. I also have 6 bumper stickers coming to add to my car. I'm going on an election literature drop today. I'm going to sign up for GOTV text banking, and I'm considering becoming a poll worker. I'm also going to call Senator Pat Toomey, who isn't up for re-election this year unfortunately, and BLAST him to oppose a SCOTUS vote. He won't listen, but I'll do it anyway. Every day.

Because it's just not in me not to.

But, at this point, it's 2 sides. And 2 sides only. I chose mine. We all need to. And there's no way around it...not choosing one of the two this time? Is STILL choosing.

This. I am going to vote early Monday and then I am going to sign up to be a poll worker. Both of my Senators will vote against this, so not really a need to pressure them, but I'm still going to contact them all the same. I am going to donate to Amy McGrath's campaign as well.

Something that's been on my mind is how much worse my parents have gotten as they go into their 70's... it doesn't happen to everyone, but quite a few people become a lot more paranoid and xenophobic in their old age. I know of elderly people who somehow manage to completely avoid this transformation, but it happens and one day will happen to us Milenials... I just hope to be one of the people who avoid it.

Mind you, my father was never very progressive... he just got a lot worse. I think my mom still knows there is something wrong with Trump, but is very influenced by my dad. So maybe it's not that progressives suddenly get less progressive, but natural bigots just stop feeling the need to hide it and suppress it after a point.
