I've been thinking about Trump and #Obamagate, and I think he may be onto something with this -- setting a precedent that Congress may establish a committee with power of subpoena and the abilty to compel testimony under oath from previous presidents and their staff, advisors, and family members, sounds a good idea to me.
And then, as usual with politics, they'll be reminded that what goes around, comes around.

Will Trump, as an ex-president, obey a Congressional committee's subpoena? I doubt it. He may have no mind left before his lawyers are done with appeals and challenges and what-not legal stratagems.

Though it's not a San Francisco Bay Area county, living right below Santa Clara county makes Santa Cruz county pay attention to the 6 San Francisco Bay Area counties. According to KAZU (the Monterey Bay NPR station), Santa Cruz county is still at Stage 1. When I heard that announcement, I was sad: "What did we do wrong? Why are we being picked on?" I haz Stage envy!
Because you have the beach, and people can't have nice things because of beach crowding.

Are you implying he had any mind left when he was sent to the "I hope they'll beat some sense into the boy" military school?

I have recreated the letter, here is what it could look like if formatted with more love and care in the same font, namely Times New Roman:

As you can already see above same font, but the letter alreay has tons more of character.

And here is what it could look like using a different font, namely Bookman Old Style, giving it a more interesting look:

Both are for sure not yet perfect (and please excuse the typos), but aside that still much better looking than what Trump's intern has produced. The differences are manyfold, but I guess visible enough.

As a work of design, it’s hard to complain about Times New Roman. It was created for a newspaper, so it’s a bit narrower than most text fonts—especially the bold style. (Newspapers prefer narrow fonts because they fit more text per line.) The italic is mediocre. But those aren’t fatal flaws. Times New Roman is a workhorse font that’s been successful for a reason.

Yet it’s an open question whether its longevity is attributable to its quality or merely to its ubiquity. Helvetica still inspires enough affection to have been the subject of a 2007 documentary feature. Times New Roman, meanwhile, has not attracted similar acts of homage.

Why not? Fame has a dark side. When Times New Roman appears in a book, document, or advertisement, it connotes apathy. It says, “I submitted to the font of least resistance.” Times New Roman is not a font choice so much as the absence of a font choice, like the blackness of deep space is not a color. To look at Times New Roman is to gaze into the void.

If you have a choice about using Times New Roman, please stop. Use something else.
I think my issue is the combination of font styles - especially with a narrow font such as NYT - it makes the letter look "cluttered" and less professional. I'm kind of used to seeing underlining used for things like "your account is past due" or "registration for classes closes on March 15th", urgent stuff like that, and bold just makes it look like a politer version OF ALL CAPS.

What annoys me most is the signature. I'm not a graphologist, but - it just hurts my eyes. It looks angry and controlling.

Well maybe "making a Trump" will become an idiom based on his signature just like there is one "to give your John Hancock."

Do I even want to know what ballot harvesting is?
Collecting ballots from people, who for whatever reason, can't deliver them themselves or mail them in (local laws vary). In theory, the person helping has to deliver them to the appropriate location (county elections office or post office). In practice it is banned in 49 states because the harvester can dispose of ballots they don't like.

Ah fonts. A few years ago I was at DrupalCon and someone was giving a design talk. He started in on the minutae and politics of different fonts. Being a printer's devil as a kid I was in my element. The rest of the audience looked to have a 'kill us now' vibe

Also pointless. Well, the whole letter is pointless, but signatures are an anachronism. Especially as that thing was most likely signed with an autopen [or somone just dropped a pdf where it needed to go].

Which would be why the Rs want to do it. Got it, thanks.

If war had a sane present, perhaps. But we don't. And this lunatic without be given any more power.

Undoubtedly he thinks it would only apply to Obama and not himself. Precedent has too many syllables.
