Yeah and like all this could be avoided with like 2 lines added to their database. I know, I am a dick or whatever for posting about it publically and a download link to all the files, and yadda yadda, but if someone did that to one of my products back ends, I would fix it, shit I would probably ask the person who did it to advise me on security.
I post SEC entries and other bug entries to the bug tracker even if they are stupid and expect ll to fix them, even if it is slow sometimes, but anyone putting out a product should give a shit and most of the time the only way to force people to care is to put out in the open what the issue is.
ALL my product users submit bugs to me and I fix them in the same day some times. If you make a product, you need to ensure quality for your user base. It is your duty.
Even ll famous for not fixing things is actually constantly fixing things, the bug staff are some of the hardest working people I know.

Honestly I see no reason why someone would want to have that data... for me it is a compelling argument not to invest into that company (and I considered applying for their advanced API for a project I'm currently working on)

You could make the same api in a couple days and make it more secure. I am not even that good at php and my sql and I could do one.

I could do the same, but that would be not be helpful to potential customers who would want the popular system integrated - not my own... I only have the choice of integrating something I do not 100% agree with or let it be.

Same here. I finally figured it out as I got toward the end of the thread, but I read through most of it going "wtf are they all talking about???"
I'm still not getting the insecure part. I'm assuming whatever server this thing uses isn't properly secured, and the info to access said server is out there in the open?

Is this topic dead ? Today my It's Not Mine System crashed ... I guess. Suddently there are hundreds of donnors I have no idea, besides all statistics are a mess. Seems I have to reset but ... Could it be a security issue? I am searching the web to see if someone else reports same problem, but so far I've got nothing. I appreciate comments. Thanks.

I have not updated either that I remember, which means they likely use different HUDs as one has owned it for a few years and the other has owned it for a few months.
Funny enough, the older account/HUD is the one that works.
No idea on GDPR. I would say the "stats" page is generic enough, but it does include "donors". If it were just generic stats, then I would assume use is acceptance of stat collection.
