Not playing devil's advocate here but Hamas' report of this is misinformation that "journalists" ran with instead of fact checking it or using the word allegedly. This was a rocket misfire from Hamas that landed in a parking lot and exploded, killing maybe 100 people.

Canada has 'high degree of confidence' Israel didn't strike hospital in Gaza: Blair

Uncertainty still surrounds Gaza hospital strike

AP visual analysis: Rocket from Gaza appeared to go astray, likely caused deadly hospital explosion

Satellite images show extent of damage caused by blast at Gaza hospital

The hospital is quite undamaged and doesn't show any sort of structural destruction that would indicate 500 people killed.

Upday, an app owned by the German media giants Axel Springer, is instructing journalists to cover the war in Gaza with a pro-Israel bent.
Well Axel Springer as company has 5 fundamental rules, which its founder wrote down in 1967.

Number 2 rules is: Wir unterstützen das jüdische Volk und das Existenzrecht des Staates Israel.

Meaning: We do support the jewish people and Israel's right of existence.

So no wonder.

Does "We accurately report the news, good or bad" not feature anywhere in these fundamental rules?

Supporting the right of the state of Israel to exist doesn't mean supporting all actions taken by all Israeli governments, and still less does it mean trying to ignore some of the consequences of those actions.

It does not. And to put things into perspective: Axel Springer is the media company, which amongst other things is publishing BILD, which is the most read and notorious tabloid in all of Germany. Many just call it the Lügenblatt, where Lüge is just lie, so plural of it, and "blatt" is a sheet of paper, like in newspaper, so the ever lying newspaper would be accurate enough.

Springer was always leaning to conservative opinions, and BILD is well known for constantly lying and making things up. Heck, there are even several books from an undercover journalist written back in the early 80s, who describes how BILD just makes things up.

It's also the company which wants to buy the Telegraph in the UK.

Many former Israeli military officers and politicians, including former prime ministers, have one message to Netanyahu: quit now!

Former prime minister Ehud Barak described the terrorist attack as “the most severe blow Israel has suffered since its establishment to date”. “I don’t believe that the people trust Netanyahu to lead when he is under the burden of such a devastating event that just happened under his term,” he told the Observer.

A former chief of staff of the Israel Defence Forces said that Netanyahu should “resign now”, while a former intelligence official described the government as “dysfunctional”.

This interview with Daniella Peled is the bleakest I have done. Daniella is ferociously well-informed – she is the managing editor of the Institute for War and Peace Reporting.

I turned to her to talk about the Gaza conflict because she does not carry with her the standard biases of a Western progressive – she is of Jewish heritage and knows Israel well.
I found her to be entirely without hope. There is no hope for a two-stage solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, she says. And it is impossible to imagine the Israeli assault on Gaza producing any workable peace.

I will let her speak for herself in this edited transcript.

It seems that some equate empathy for Palestinians for support of Hamas or as having no empathy for the Israelis. Or if one speaks out against how the Israeli government is handling the situation, they are against Israel wanting to defend themselves.

I can only imagine how horrible it must be for all people directly affected.

Greta Thunberg is really killing her movement right now in a way that she never can come back! Even her worst opponents could never have dreamt of causing this amount of permanent damage, which FFF is inflicting on itself with official posts like this right now!

By the way in case you want to be briefed about what's going on in Israel and Gaza right now, the ISW got you covered. Aside the Ukraine war they are covering these events as "Iran Update."

The Iran Update provides insights into Iranian and Iranian-sponsored activities abroad that undermine regional stability and threaten US forces and interests. It also covers events and trends that affect the stability and decision-making of the Iranian regime. The Critical Threats Project (CTP) at the American Enterprise Institute and the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) provides these updates regularly based on regional events. For more on developments and in Iran and the region, see our interactive map of Iran and the Middle East.
