Straw man argument. No one said you were evil. The worst any of us could say is that you seem exceptionally literal and have difficulty reading tone, especially the tongue-in-cheek irreverent tone that is our bread and butter. These aren't sins of any kind, but they make it difficult for you to interact with the forum members in a way that is mutually comprehensible.

I'm not sure what you expected from us, but clearly it isn't what you got. We are a rambunctious group; no one intends to offend you, but no one is going to hold back either. It's on you to decide whether your sensibilities are a match for this place and the verbal sparking that the rest of us enjoy.

Well to start at the beginning, you posted many new threads, all of them asking for information of one sort or another while offering very little about yourself.
Some of the threads actually begged for a 'Let me Google that for you' (google it.. its a thing) answer, like the Skype question and the phone question.. which also lacked all the vital info needed for helpful answers.
You only saw the negative right from the start.. because quite a few ppl were fumbling around in the dark trying really hard to help you by giving suggestions and asking for more info. That right there was actually marvellous hospitality on the board's part.

The names thread.. could have done with a backstory...
The how many accounts thread... without backstory was just plain nosey for a stranger...
etc etc...

You barrelled along posting one thread after another without testing the waters or getting to know people which lead to you getting prickly rather quickly.. and then you posted that you already had people on ignore and didn't want them READING your posts...

What you did IMHO was akin to someone's plus one coming to a house party, filling the host's fridge with their own non alcoholic beer, judging the actual friends of host for drinking harvey wall bangers (the porn thread), setting up a stage in front of the BBQ area and proceeding to sing country music karaoke to a room of ppl all wearing heavy metal tshirts.

To be brutally honest I thought (and still do a little) you were a troll. Especially because of the aforementioned wotsits.

Now it is just up to you. You flounced, you came back... the broken fences and burned bridge fixing tools and materials are your responsibility. And like people have said .. get to know us, you might get to understand us and even like us a little.
If its a heavily moderated forum you are looking for, then the official SL forums might be more your style, but be careful what you wish for, moderation there includes inworld banning.

When you ignore someone, it should make your posts vanish from existence for the them, too.

VRChat works this way and I have fallen in love with it. You both just mutually stop existing for each other. More often I don’t want stalkers more than i don’t want to hear someone.

You can't compare a publicly open and accessible forum with the self-contained bubble universe of virtual reality. One is 'live' and the other isn't.

Chat conversations in the virtual location you visit are witnessed 'live' and in the moment. They are not stored there for anyone to just read or hear any time they feel like it. But everything you post in a discussion forum is there for posterity, there to be read anytime, and your 'stalker' doesn't even have to be logged in to do it. So you can't "make your posts vanish from existence for them" if they choose not to log in. They can still see what you said. So it's a fairly pointless feature.

There is no equivalent of visiting VR chat without logging in just to see what was being said in the virtual club the other day. You HAVE to log in to get there, and can only take part in a conversation which is happening 'now'.

The only way to achieve what you suggest would be to make the entire forum readable by signed up members only, but then your stalker can just sign up with another account to read and react to your stuff. You don't even have to be online when they do it, unlike in a virtual reality chat room.

ETA: Oh yes, on the side topic of SC - honestly if you think this place is bad, you're absolutely delusional. SC had next to no moderation (even in its second incarnation) and thus the users really could unload how they really felt on you.

My brothers and I were raised by a union Democrat who told us that MLK was a great man (this was actually before he was assassinated) and then one of them moved to Alabamastan and became a sincere racist who tells me that "black people are racists, too".

I try gently to explain that unless they have impressed white Alabamians into 400 years of slavery, plus Jim Crow, then the most you can say is that "(some) back people are also biased". (and we can hardly blame them for that based on Alabama history), but he insists that it's equivalent.
