I am curious how much time you spend in SL these days, if any. For me, it has shocked the hell out of me that I have signed into SL almost daily since coming back at the end of 2019 after an almost 10 year break from it. I enjoy SL more than I ever have, which is amazing to me after 18 years. What about you?

It fluctuates, and has for the last god knows how many years. Almost every day I've logged into either opensim or SL.

Opensim has become a drag for me, so for the last maybe 3 months, it's been SL. I have a decent parcel to work with, I feel like my budget can handle what I'm doing for the time being and as a rule I'm enjoying the folks I'm running into -so I'm on pretty much every day.

I had several breaks in the past.
At the moment I'm online almost every day.
Sometimes a few minutes, sometimes for hours in a row. Depending on who is online, if I'm in building mood or need to do some inworld shopping.
But RL comes always first.

Because of the pandemic I started building again and now I even have a small shop on the marketplace again. That is as we all know time consuming and it was just the right thing against Corona boredom at home.

Typically only once or twice a week for a few hours usually for music and chat (lurking and listening).

If marketplace obliges, I do have some shopping for a water parcel to do.

Maybe an hour a day, but I also take several extended breaks lasting weeks to months. I think I've found a decent balance now.

I'm on every weekend with my partner, but week days vary. I might not log in at all between Sunday and Friday, or might be on a little bit every day.

I'm on pretty much every day, but the times vary. Yesterday was most of the day and evening, but that's a rarity. Usually for only a few hours at a time.

Lately I have probably logged in almost daily for months, but it's on an alt that has basically become my main account.

Now do I DO anything? That's a different question. Usually I am idle, chatting in some groups. I also have been doing classes at Builders Brewery, even though I don't really need to learn how to build. I like the atmosphere and the inspiration mostly.

Since Dec/Jan I've only been making it on once a month when the rental box on my small parcel demands to be fed. Keep paying the small amount for rent because I doubt I'll ever give up SL for good.

A lot. And when I think of "a lot", I think of the "alot" from Hyperbole and a Half (also known as the "All the things" artist) Not every day, but most days. Some days longer, some days shorter. SL, cheap dysphoria treatment.

It's been weeks since I logged in.... um, possibly months. About once every year I feel a renewed sense of enthusiasm for SL and log in for several days in a row, but it never lasts. Unfortunately, long absences make it so much harder when I do log in. I can't remember how to do even simple stuff and get easily frustrated.

There was a time I thought I'd be in SL until the lights were turned off. I have no idea why that fire burned out. I want to want to log in. I want to feel the lure of SL. I just don't anymore.

Let me bump this up a bit: do you think you're spending not enough time in SL, too much time, or just the right amount? What would you do if you had more time in either r/l or sl?

I think I'm spending just the right amount of time in SL. If I had more time in r/l I'd probably have a cleaner apartment and would either study more or try writing. If I had more time in SL I would socialize more and create some serious magic with the stuff I create. I'm no longer creating, so it's only socializing now and that makes me happy at the moment.

SL is entertainment.
In my early SL years I spent way to much time in there. I was totally addicted.
I don't have that anymore. SL is one of the possibilities to waist my spare time, nothing more nothing less.

At the moment during this lovely sports summer with the EC football, Wimbledon, Tour de France, The Olympics, a lot ot that spare time goes into watching TV. The last week I was more like minutes in SL than hours. That will be the same during the Olympics.

After that a lot depends on how the pandemic evolves. If possible this fall, I want to make a few visits to some historical cities close by, visit a few museums, a day at the sea, some shopping in Amsterdam, Brussels or Cologne, maybe even Paris, that kind of stuff. Then SL will be on the back burner a lot as well. If it is too risky to travel around for sight seeing and shopping, I will probably extend my SL time again.

So I'm spending the right amount of time in SL.
RL comes first (as it should IMHO).

I was away since 2010/2011. Logged for a few days in 2014, but lost interest quickly.

Came back last year, July/August, took time to update avatar, wardrobe, get the lay of the land again. I been logging almost every night, to explore, take pics or chat with a few friends.

I'm starting to feel the pull again, like when I first started. Kind of amazed that after so long I can still fall into SL like this. :D

At least four or five times a week. I generally stay in until I get frustrated with lag or something that I'm building. When the lock down started I started back into SL after about a four year hiatus. Previously, I was just working too many hours to be in very much. But now I'm retired so ... I'm enjoying it. 🙂

It really is a serious problem with SL that it is too complicated and has a tremendous learning curve for new users... nobody wants to google how to do every step early on or returning back from a long absence... I have been using it almost every day for short periods and usually 4-5 times a week for a few hours at a time, so it's easy for people like me to forget how hard this is for new people or people who've been gone. I think it's important for SL users to be more patient with newbies than we often hare... I often see it on discussion boards that some people who are curious about SL just don't know where to even begin...

I still adore SL, and like what I do in it. I don't feel like I did towards the end of my WoW years where I was both burnt out and too addicted to stop logging in...
