North Dakota, which currently has the highest rate of new COVID infections relative to population in the world, voted 2/3 for Trump. So all those people you mentioned are likely to also be right-wing. The other third are more likely to wear masks, social distance, and wash their hands. Cleansing a gene pool of idiocy, or any other trait, is a statistical matter. Some of the other people invariably die. That's regrettable.
That's cold. Fucking cold.

The Mayo Clinic! Yikes.

Williams said that 93 percent of staff who have contracted the virus did so in the community, and that the majority of those who contracted the virus at work did so while eating in a break room with a mask off.

“It shows you how easy it is to get COVID-19 in the Midwest,” said Willams, during an afternoon press call. “Our staff are being infected mostly due to community spread, and this impacts our ability to care for patients. We need everyone in the communities we serve to do their part to limit the spread of COVID-19.”
In other news, with 32 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the clinic’s General Medicine ICU dedicated for the care of COVID-19, the clinic has filled all of its allotted ICU beds for the virus in Rochester, and is in the process of expanding that center by 12 to 13 beds.

The clinic has 18 specialty ICU wards in Rochester total with multiple beds in each, but those floors are designed to treat a host of other patients whose numbers are not decreasing.

Williams said there are currently 73 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in a non-ICU setting at Mayo, 255 system-wide.

Prof Hayward, a professor of infectious disease epidemiology at University College London, said: "Mixing at Christmas does pose substantial risks, particularly in terms of bringing together generations with high incidence of infection with the older generations who currently have much lower levels of infection and are at most risk of dying if they catch Covid."

Prof Hayward - a member of the government's Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies - told BBC Radio 4's Today programme: "My personal view is we're putting far too much emphasis on having a near-normal Christmas.

"We know respiratory infections peak in January so throwing fuel on the fire over Christmas can only contribute to this."

They are changing it to reflect that people should not travel for the holiday. Previously, they had some guidelines regarding IF you chose to travel.
