Explosive Devices Sent To The Obamas, The Clintons And CNN Offices

The Secret Service has reported that potential explosive devices were mailed to the home of The Clintons in NY, The Obamas in DC, and to CNN in NYC. No one has been injured. The Time Warner Center has been evacuated.

The offices of the San Diego Union Tribune and Senator Kamala Harris have been evacuated:

San Diego Police are currently investigating a suspicious package and have closed off a section of 6th Avenue where the San Diego Union-Tribune is located, according to Officer Billy Hernandez.
The building that was evacuated houses the San Diego Union-Tribune, Senator Kamala Harris' field office, and other offices this morning.
It is not clear where the packages were to be delivered. One U-T staffer also noted that a bicycle pump looking device was near the boxes.

The FL office of Debbie Wasserman Schultz was also evacuated because of a package. In this case, the intended recipient was Eric Holder, but the sender used the wrong address and put the return address as Debbie's office, so it was returned there.

Apparently Debbie Wasserman was used as the return address for all four of the bombs. The one that was sent to CNN also had former CIA director John Brennan as the intended recipient, but with CNN HQ's mailing address for some reason. That package - the one sent to CNN - contained white powder as well as the bomb, which authorities are working to identify.

The suspicious package at the Union-Tribune building turned out to be a false alarm.

Obviously not yet known who this was addressed to, or if it is indeed one of the bombs. Screeners are hyper-aware right now so there's probably going to be a lot of scrutiny of packages, and potentially some false alarms.

New York governor Andrew Cuomo also claims a device was sent to his office, although there haven't been any statements yet by law enforcement about that one.

ETA: the police have said a "threatening hoax letter" was sent to Cuomo's office, but is not connected to the attempted bombings.

There's people on Facebook circulating memes claiming that Obama or Hillary sent those bombs, making it look like right extremists did it, in order to drum up more support for the DNC. The fuck is wrong with people?
