LMAO at all the obviously premature celebrations from his followers about how he turned the company around by firing tons of staff. I still look at twitter to follow a few people I like but always do it through adblock of course.

I'm chopping at the bit for them to collapse and for threads to release a desktop app (I know there are ways around that but I'm lazy).

That tweet where someone is like, "Its fake news" and even Elon chimes in saying its true.

These people are rediculous.

Who knew that plunking down that much money into a business he has no clue how to run, letting his overinflated ego guide his decisions, and turning it into another Truth Social would have financial consequences?

Yes they are. If it was actually possible to just dump half your workforce in a ham fisted way with no unintended consequences every big corporation would do that all the time! A major issue with the dangerously stupid is that they think everyone else is even dumber than they are so they just think it's that easy to come up with solutions nobody else thought of.

Almost every year since I started with my current employer there is a round of "encouraged retirment" offers. Its nowhere near half, but over time, the brain drain is real. Tons of systems that no one actually knows how to operate.

I can't imagine how Twitter is losing 50-75% of its workforce in less than a year. I am surprised its even still running a d hasn't crashed from some random overflow bug in the code somewhere that some employee was quietly flushing out once a week.

Elon Musk is suing the law firm which made him pay Twitter; 10 minutes before he took ownership of Twitter, the old board transferred 90 million US$ as compensation for their successfully delivered services, and Musk now wants this money back.

I like him, so I'll watch the video. I was talking about this incident with a friend of mine who is a lawyer. ...we agree, there is no chance Musk is winning this case. He doesn't have a legal rock to stand on and this is a VERY high powered law firm.

I watched the whole thing but these legal analyses make my head hurt.

Out of interest, what "banking needs" does Musk intend that X should fill that aren't already filled by regular banks? Maybe the UK is atypical here, but as far as I'm concerned, my online banking needs are met perfectly adequately by my regular bank. I can manage my accounts, pay bills, send money to people, send payment requests and borrow or invest money using my computer or smartphone, and anything my regular bank doesn't do, other more specialist online businesses will do for me.

Based on his performance with Twitter, Elon Musk is one of the last people I'd trust with my money. He's about as credible a banker as is Donald Trump, and will probably appeal to a similar clientele.

In a nutshell:

Party A sued Party B and won, so Party A paid Law Firm a lot of money for their work.

Party B legally changes his name to "Party A" and now sues Law Firm for overpricing Party A, because it's easy to win a lawsuit against that sucker Party B and shouldn't cost much.

It's dumb.

It's really, really dumb.

Makes me wonder if Musk is now hanging out with some sovereign citizens

I know that much but there is a lot more nuance to the video than that which is where my head starts to hurt.
