I can see both sides - Ellen is not wrong in that you can be friends with and kind to people you don't agree with. However, George W. Bush is not someone who just has a difference of opinion on topic - he is guilty of war crimes and has never been brought to justice, and his administration went to great lengths to harm LGBTQ people. Ellen can choose to be friends with whomever she wants, but it doesn't mean people have to like or respect that decision.
