On this note, a pet peeve of mine is when someone uses words like "brave" or "cowardly" describe someone's moral character, because that's just not what those words mean. Quite the contrary, official diagnosis criteria for psychopaths includes a "dulled fear response." The objectively are not cowardly and that makes them a lot more dangerous. Many low empathy internet trolls are arguably kept in check by the fact that they aren't brave enough to do any of that in real life.

I think that since 2016 we have to rethink what constitutes a troll and their motivation.

A great many trolls are someone's employees. If they don't stir crap IRL it's because it's not in their job description.
