Its also code for "People don't understand how taxes work at all and vote for Republicans who make random vague promises around taxes."One other thing I'm really sick of hearing is that democrats "abandoned the working class".... they didn't abandon policies like healthcare, infrastructure and unions that are good for the working class. ...this belief is really code for hating how democrats ALSO try to help people of color and gays. I also heard NPR just now talking about how Kamala did about as well in working class neighborhoods in Pennsylvania as Biden did. The bigger loss was in richer neighborhoods. Any notion that democrats have to turn their backs on minorities to help the working class need to be called out.
I came across a thread on Reddit from the IBEW subreddit a while back and there were Union people backing Trump.
Like why. WHY.
Or like the guy who handles our building maitenence talking about potential change in policies and his employer because of it meaning a pay cut, also commenting about how he might be better in a "lower tax bracket" anyway.
Like no, you won't, ever. Thats not how taxes work. Why donpeople not understand how graduated taxes work. If the tax rate at (made up numbers) above 100k is 50% and the tax rate belowmis 2%< that does not mean that making 150k means you are only bringing home 75k and that you would be better off making 99k and bringing home (around 97k).
Thats not how the fucking taxes work. You get that lower rate up tonthe 100k, and only the shit above gets taxes at the higher rate. There is never any benefit from "going down a tax bracket." Even if it was 99% tax rate for anything over 100k, you will still always make more money net.
