I got my J&J shot yesterday morning. Had to sit in the observation area for 30 mins as I have used epipens for allergic reactions (shellfish and 2 different blood pressure meds). Woke up this morning at 3am freezing despite having the covers on. I do mean freezing, my teeth were actualy chattering. Took about an hour to warm up with the winter blankets piled on me. Arm is a little sore, major headache but warm now. Now I just want to kill people because I've had 4 hours sleep since Sunday...

Same situation for me. No Krispy Kreme within 30 miles, but they just opened a Dunkin nearby recently. A donut a day would make me quite plump!
The nearest one to me is at the Atlanta airport. No way I'm visiting that plague infested place, even with a vaccination. How do you think all those new variants *get* to the US?

Just had my second vaccination. I’m a little nervous because I’ve heard a lot of stories about people who had no reaction to the first reacting pretty strongly to the second.

I don't work on Fridays anymore, so perfect timing. If I feel lousy, I'll let you know and then I'll go back to bed. :)

That's because the first shot primes your immune system to fight the virus, and the reaction is when it is doing so.

Meanwhile, still waiting for an appointment at my community health center. Atlanta now has a mass vaccination site downtown at one of the sports stadiums, but I don't want to get that close to so many people. I can wait a few more weeks.

UPDATE: Have appointment now for next Wed, at the fire station/community center in the small town down the road from the one I live in.

Yeah, I’m aware, there just still seems to be so much variety in how people react. I was a little lightheaded afterward and got tingly in my hands/forearms...I had tingles in the arm that was injected the first time too, but it was both this time. I was also fuzzy-headed and headachey this afternoon, and my throat is quite scratchy.

My mother had her second Pfizer shot yesterday and so far displays no bad effect at all. Just wanted to add to the chorus of results.

I wound up staying home yesterday because I was just exhausted...like, getting up to feed the cats and email my boss took all the energy I had. I also had a a headache that got progressively worse throughout the day and is still hanging around this morning. I might have had a mild fever yesterday morning too, but I didn’t bother taking my temperature, so I can’t say for sure.

The scratchy throat thing I mentioned post-vaccination was either unrelated or an atypical response; it felt more like acid reflux than a standard sore throat, so the timing may just have been coincidental.

Mine were Moderna, btw.

It sounds like ill effects vary pretty heavily by person. I hope you feel better soon.

I get my second Moderna April 5th. My brother who had it said he didn't have much of a reaction, achy and other slightly flu-ish stuff. He thinks mine will be no worse. I hope he's right. I plan to do some shopping and cooking in advance, and I've given my dog walker the heads up. I guess I'll see.
I recommend checking your local websites, county, city, etc. They'll have the info for local sites the state website may not. At least, that's how it works here.
