It just occured to me I might need to warn you about overusing hand sanitizer. Something I saw no one doing so far.

Our skin is naturally protected by a layer of fatty acids inhabited by an army of micriobiotic symbionts - this is a human body's first line of defence. Sure, hand sanitiozers kills the germs, but it also removes the acids and symbionts. It's like a tactical nuke - if you think you might habe a high chance of contact you can use it, but cream up your hands after use and do not immediately reexpose yourself. If you do not think you might have contacted it and just want to go sure, use soap instead.
As I understand it, soap is to be preferred to hand sanitiser, since while both disrupt the chemical structure of the virus, on contact, so as to render it harmless, it's a lot easier to cover all the potentially-contaminated surfaces of your hands, fingers and wrists with a soapy lather than it is with hand sanitiser unless you're actually immersing your hands in the sanitiser.

So the advice we're getting here is use soap and water when you can, and save the sanitiser for when that's not possible.

I've not bothered with sanitiser -- I work from home and hardly ever leave the flat, anyway, and I bought a large pack of nitrile gloves for when when I need to go out and open shop doors or press buttons on cashpoint machines and so on.

I have been using soap for the past week+. I brought home the big thing of sanitizer from work but forgot we had a LOT of liquid soap at home and prefer the latter anyway.

"UT has been notified that five UT students, traveling together and with other UT students during Spring Break, have tested positive for COVID-19," the university announced over the weekend. "We sincerely wish our students, and any others who may be affected, a full and rapid recovery."

The University of Tampa, like numerous other schools across the country, moved all of its classes online earlier this month, but resident halls are still open and some students are still in close contact.

The multiple diagnoses come as spring breakers flocking to Florida beaches have sparked a backlash, as the coronavirus pandemic spreads and people are urged to social distance and to stay at home.
Meanwhile...

The informal G7 group wanted to release a press release regarding the corona virus. It didn't happen because of the USA vehemently insisted that it needs to be called the "Wuhan virus."

And he's too stupid to figure out that people who died from taking his advice will have family members out for revenge. Not necessarily with guns. For example, if someone distributed the coronavirus through the ventilation system in one of his buildings. Who would want to go there then? Even if they didn't actually do it, just *said* they did it, they'd have to clear the building.

Kinda OK, I bet some of our politicians were waiting for excuses to cooperate with that moron anyway...

More outbreaks of idiocy thanks to the President.

Doctors hoard unproven COVID-19 meds by writing prescriptions for selves, families
A nationwide shortage of two drugs touted as possible treatments for the coronavirus is being driven in part by doctors inappropriately prescribing the medicines for family, friends, and themselves, according to pharmacists and state regulators.

“It’s disgraceful, is what it is,” said Garth Reynolds, executive director of the Illinois Pharmacists Association, which started getting calls and emails Saturday from members saying they were receiving questionable prescriptions. “And completely selfish.”

Demand for chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine surged over the past several days as President Donald Trump promoted them as possible treatments for the coronavirus and online forums buzzed with excitement over a small study suggesting the combination of hydroxychloroquine and a commonly used antibiotic could be effective in treating COVID-19.

I just read that Apple donated a million, and I was like “what!” The I saw this;

Oh. ☺
Thanks, that makes sense. I thought facebook had some really strange continuity of business plan that included a clause about zombies.
