Here is a tracker, you can scroll down for the map, zoom in on your area, and click on the dots for info.
The map, however is only as good as what your country tests and reports.

Tracking coronavirus: Map, data and timeline
Thanks. I wonder how often that gets updated. It does not yet include the one in Maryland or the one in Rhode Island. Both I heard about today as I was driving around, so both might be 'brand new' notices.

I need the ability to mash more than one emote button at a time - especially on Beebo's posts! :)

...There are many times during every year where roads here are blocked off from either floods, landslides, forest fires, snow, windstorms dropping trees across the roads. There won't be any jaunts down to the store to pick up something you forgot. In fact in some cases there won't be any jaunts down to the store for weeks! On top of that we're between 2 active volcanoes & will be up shit creek if one or the other blows up. Oh and did I mention that there are 3 dams above where I live & that if any of the 3 of them break we'll be down (not up) shit creek! Don't forget this is earthquake country here!...
There's a "Chamber of Commerce" on line 1 for you Ms. Hazelnut and a "Tourism Bureau" on line 2. Should I tell them you're busy?

I think where you live will determine what or how much you should “stockpile”. I could simply call a medical info line if I were worried about being sick, or go to a clinic or hospital (walking distance) if sick with zero worries about $, I live in an area that is the opposite of a food desert (walking distance to 6 - 7 grocery stores), have friends and family close by, am not vulnerable health wise, my cupboards are filled with basic foodstuffs. In any case, I live in a 3 and a 1/2, not sure where I could store big quantities of food.

Of course I’m not panicking, it’s easy for me. Not everyone is in the same situation. I would think that thinking ahead, “stockpiling” If I were far from resources, or had medical issues, would be the exact thing to do to keep my stress levels down. Being prepared makes you less likely to panic.

I’ve seen some pics on Twitter of empty store shelves and such and just assumed they were from places where there was only one grocery store, because otherwise, that would be strange.

If you're a regular shopper at a particular supermarket, you'll soon get to know times to avoid because a lot of shelves are going to be empty -- just after the lunchtime rush on a weekday, for example -- which, conversely, can be easily be used if you need a picture of empty supermarket shelves.

Very true! I go to my only local store on Sunday mornings when most of the other shoppers are at church. haha It's nice & peaceful in there at that time! Oh and avoid the first couple days of the month when most get their checks & go shopping.

Washington state reports second death; first case confirmed in New York state
New York Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo (D) confirmed the state’s first case of coronavirus Sunday night, announcing that a woman in her late 30s contracted the virus after traveling to Iran. President Trump on Saturday extended a travel ban on Iran to apply to any foreign nationals who had been in that country over the past 14 days.

Around the same time Sunday, Washington state reported its second death in King County. It is also the second death in the United States. The total number of cases in the county, which is where Seattle is located, is now 10.

I used to live near the Stamford Hill district of London, which is home to a large ultra-Orthodox Hasidic community.

The local supermarket there was a great place if you needed to do your shopping on Friday nights and Saturdays.

You know you live in 2020 when your first reaction is to brace for the cringe tweets out of the White House.
Luckily according to the angry orange This Is Not Happening so he would be hard pressed to criticize anything New York does since that'll be admitting it's an actual problem.

Here is a useful rundown of the legal framework the US government uses for quarantines.

I really hope this isn't important to any of us here. My GF is showing some worrying symptoms, so it might be. I hope I'm just paranoid.

The not-infectious-unless symptomatic thing seems to be untrue. The "superspreader" in the UK infected a number of people in France and didn't become ill until after returning home to the UK. He infected at least eleven people before he was tested on being contacted by the people tracing contacts of the Singapore conference attendee who infected him. He had not at that point fallen ill himself.
Never use the exception as a rule. That would make life unlivable.
Superspreaders are exeptions.
And yes, everything that can go wrong will go wrong, but that is not the rule you should use to plan your actions on.
In the end life is a risk. You can make efforts to minimize the most obvious risks, but you never can rule all of them completely out.

'The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million
to one,' he said.
'The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million
to one - but still they come!'

Doesn't seem to be the exception, but so little is known about this it's hard to say. There were cases in China also of people not having symptoms and yet being infected. It would be unwise to assume that you can only catch the thing from people who are visibly sick, or who consider themselves ill is what it means.

I would have said that rural Lincolnshire and Norfolk were not high risk places, but there are a LOT of schoolchildren in both areas under self-isolation due to having spent half term in the high risk areas of Italy. I had no idea just how many schools spent half term there.

Of course there are uncertainties. That's why I stick with the people who studied for this. Their recommendations and explanations are good enough for me.
The good ones tell you that a lot is still unknown in the world of viruses. But they also tell you that the corona virus is comparable with the flu viruses (but more dangarous because nobody is vaccinated or has other natural protection yet), and will give you common sense advise on what to do and not.

The media with their soundbites and high speed news producing, I don't give them much weight these days. And the social media..... ugh. :voodoo:
Best are live interviews with the specialists.

I gave it a lot of thoughts and I have decided to go to school this week, just as normally.
I won't let me lead by all this at least halfway hyping news sources.
