Does this mean we have to start naming pandemic outbreaks, alphabetically?![]()
Temperature, humidity, wind predict second wave of pandemic
The 'second wave' of the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in much blame placed on a lack of appropriate safety measures. However, due to the impacts of weather, research suggests two outbreaks per year during a pandemic are inevitable.phys.org
Pray we don't have to start using the Greek alphabet.Does this mean we have to start naming pandemic outbreaks, alphabetically?
Increasingly, public health authorities and drug companies are indicating that mutating strains and fading vaccine efficiency could mean perpetual campaigns to keep the population immune, including the need to organize regular booster shots.
The virus would morph from being an acute, albeit lengthy, crisis to a fact of life.
Thats not to say we’d have to live with the periodic lockdowns or public health measures on the national scale that we’ve seen. But it would mean an ongoing effort to confront COVID-19. Governments would be faced with the prospect of building long-term vaccine and PPE manufacturing capabilities and of organizing regular vaccination drives that could make the annual flu season look puny by comparison.

Even with Israel’s world-leading rollout of Covid-19 vaccinations, drugs to treat Covid patients are in desperate need across the world.
Two such drugs developed in Israel show great promise in clinical trials: EXO-CD24 and Allocetra.
EXO-CD24, an experimental inhaled medication developed at Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center, cured all 30 moderate-to-severe cases in a Phase I clinical trial.
Developed over the past six months at the hospital, EXOCD24 stops the “cytokine storm” – where the immune system goes out of control and starts attacking healthy cells – that occurs in the lungs of 5-7% of Covid-19 patients.

A Review of Pterostilbene Antioxidant Activity and Disease Modification
Pterostilbene (trans-3,5-dimethoxy-4-hydroxystilbene) is a natural dietary compound and the primary antioxidant component of blueberries. It has increased bioavailability in comparison to other stilbene compounds, which may enhance its dietary benefit ...www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
Couldn't have hurt!Hey, maybe that's why my Gramma lived to almost 99 - she adored her blueberries.
We could use former U.S. Congressional Representatives for our pandemic waves and other disasters. "It's blowing a Strom Thurmond this month throughout the 50 states, with new infections rising by 65,000 this week!"Pray we don't have to start using the Greek alphabet.
If the doctors think that it is a good idea that I take the jabs, why would I decide otherwise?I'm still skeptical of the vaccine, because I don't like this rapid development stuff, but at this point, it's clear that being vaccinated is safer than not being vaccinated, so I signed up to get it. I never thought being a fat smoker would be good for my health, but that put me in category 1A, so I should be getting it soon, I hope.
If you are in Pennsylvania, this is where you can sign up to get the vaccine from UPMC.
