Obviously preaching to the choir here...
The left wanted peace. The 'right' made that impossible.
They picked a president who in his own words, has committing sexual assault. Speaking to an assembly of police officers at one of their union events, he laughed and *invited* them to engage in unlawful police brutality. Not an isolated incident. He encouraged political violence against protestors at his rallies. As president he's protecting pedophiles (maxwell) and repatriated rapist/sex traffickers (tate brothers), as well as pardoning dangerous armed unstable criminals who attacked our capital on Jan 6.
He's put the entire Latino population of the United States under siege with unlawful siesures and deportations without due process, or oversight. Who knows how many latinos have been killed in this ongoing assault... We will never know because they'll bury the data the same way they hide the bodies. And it's only a matter of time before they expand their operations to include black neighborhoods as well.
Deliberately sitting on their hands refusing to acknowledge much less do anything about school shootings is an act of political violence... Their obvious goal is an increased death rate among the children of minorities and 'the poors', by denying them vaccines and safe & adequately funded public schools... while they divert *our* tax dollars into the private pockets of their politically aligned, theocratic, racially profiled charter schools for 'rich kids'.
The right has been normalizing political violence day after day after day, after MFignGDamned day.
Kirks blood is on their hands. He was on a crusade that aimed to deprive life and liberty from millions... And he was killed indirectly due to the policies that he helped defend. Fuck him, fuck his mourners, fuck the right screaming about 'extremist leftwing violence'. The right has done so much harm so quickly that it's absolutely no surprise that some of the most unhinged are resorting to right-wing-like acts of political violence in order to retaliate. It's not like the right is making any effort at all to discourage political violence in general... Just acts that target them. They cheer and joke when it's aimed at anyone else.
The problem is... Unlike the left, the right can and will retaliate with not just impunity but accolades for it, and they fucking know it. There is no justice. It's entirely one sided. We're in free fall. Even if there's a blue wave that takes over both sides of congress and the white house... We have an armed militia of countless anonymous ICE agents in position to become a dangerous, militant insurgency at the drop of a fucking red ball cap. The only thing the left could do in that case is to offer them lucrative contracts to go overseas to help defend Ukraine, and hope that attrition thins their ranks.
I dunno. I'm in a really dark place right now. (Reddit has become a ghost town with subbreddits locked down hard because trolls violated the site's 'no glorifying violence' mandate.) All of this has pushed the envelope that much closer to violent martial law.
There aren't enough of us to win on 'massive peaceful sit-ins' the way India did with Ghandi against British oppression. There's no "America" out there to save us from ourselves the way we helped save Europe from Nazi Germany. I don't see the pendulum swinging back, not until the right has caused so many deaths that their own survival instincts kick in. And even then, it will likely only cause people to entrench more deeply rather than come together to cast down this dangerous shift in American power.
