I have the feeling I'm like an old dog that won't learn new tricks.
I read and tried gatchas like 4 years ago at the very beginning but they were not selling and I was not getting any real income from them so I gave up after 3 months.

Now everybody says gatchas is like the new thing, but I have no idea how it works, or if it works different.
I guess you add a few poor items in the machine and 2 or 3 good ones and you put them for sale ( transferable and cheap). Am I correct ?
Well, it seems I have many items that I have removed from the store, but they are still decent, so I could mix and match them in a gacha machine.

How do you advertise which ones are the cool items in the machine ? so it is clear to the customers what's the most they can get.
Can you add a landmark so I can visit a gatcha place that works properly ? I would appreciate it.
any good real script for gatchas? I guess mine must be really old by now.

I am guessing it is only popular because of resellers making money and most of advertising seems to come from events like Arcade or bloggers who get the full set and promote it. I would not recommend it unless it is a set of clutter or accessories that do not vary much - this way it does not pay off for resellers to have a go and inflate price and you get the traffic and sales. I think Jian might have a working gacha bit but no idea what script they use.

Gachas where you have different options of the same product will most likely continue to be interesting to some.

But gachas where you need to collect the whole lot to have a usable room or house set have been dead to me for ages. I just won't spend the money there. I will check marketplace if something does jump out at me as being worthwhile and buy it secondhand.

I've also noticed a lot of interior designers are now making their complete rooms sets for sale at events in the 3-4k price point. Again... not happening. I'll buy one thing for a hugely expensive 200L$ (really not worth it for a vase/rug/table decor) and leave the rest. Keep those same sets in the 750 - 1250 mark and i'll keep buying them all!

i think uniqueness is also a factor.. remember back in the day people were afraid to get cammed and checked out for fear of getting copied. creating avatar Anti-shields.
Combined with a limited time Event to get said outfit, theres pressure to get something that very few or no one else will have or get the chance to purchase later.

Is 3-4K really that expensive for a whole room decor set of 10 or 11 pieces, though?

Yes, when you've spent 350 0n the house to put it in, and spent the same at the event the previous month and the next event where the same designers have another room set. Yes i tend to choose the bits i want and end up being way more choosey than i want to be (I like to have options)... but would spend more if the prices were lower! Considering i spend in the region of 40k per month at events...

Since no copy is the nature of the beast... it never gained any interest for me.

But on the other hand, lootboxes in video games seem to be quite popular even though no-one wants to admit buying them.

Most gacha scripts let you define 'commons' and 'rares' or even 'ultrarares' - you announce on your ad which the rares are.

I guess you add a few poor items in the machine and 2 or 3 good ones and you put them for sale ( transferable and cheap). Am I correct ?
Yes, transferable and cheap (I think LL 50 is the most common price per draw), but no to 'poor items'. It shouldn't be frustrating to get only 'junk' you don't want to rez and can't resell. In my opinion the fairest and most profitable type of gacha is a collection of good, maybe combinable items (for example a set of matching furniture or decor, or a jewelry set - where all items can also be used as stand alone item) plus one or two outstanding rares. These can be more complex items, desirable colors, or full sets with color HUD. Or you offer one item in various colors plus an extra desirable rare.

I'm a fan of different colours in my gacha machines, though I have done a few sets. The ones that seem to do best are usually the different textures, rather than the sets, though I do try and make my sets work without needing the whole thing. But I also tend to sell the 'fatpack' hud versions along side, if someone wants a more sure thing.

My only fever with gacha is the one I get whenever someone spells it gatcha. I start to really burn up with "gotcha."

It's like gambling, except with objects instead of money, and the illusion of being able to earn back what you've lost via reselling. It's only good, IMO, if the whole set is something you REALLY like so you don't care if you get mostly commons.

I want what I want when I want it and I don't want what I don't want. That means Gacha is Satan, not Satin and we want Satin not Satan. Hail Satin!
