It is a probably a reliable code, because really nobody expects that one.
If I had to write a hack app, I would most likely start the search with 00000001.
Presumably, though, that's a code not so much for the purposes of secrecy or security, but more as an agreed signal, like the Morse signal S.O.S. or the various codes the emergency services use to indicate the type of incident at which first responders are required, or white or black smoke when they're electing a new pope.

That is, it's an economical and immediately recognisable way of communicating information to those who need it, not a way of obscuring it.

No one is going to say, "Oh, we've received code 00000000. The only person who would know to send that is the POTUS, so we'd better start launching missiles."

Rather, they're going to say, "Oh, we've received code 00000000. Better start with all the verification procedures that we're supposed to implement before we do anything we might briefly regret."

LOL Trump is fundraising in Georgia over the January runoff election, but he's not even giving the money to the actual candidates

I am really hoping his rhetoric down there has a lot of rs not voting and the whole gop will collapse soon.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't a code you received. It was a code, rather like a combination-lock, that you had to enter through thumbwheel switches
in order to launch the missile or arm the bomb.

Possibly, though I think whatever codes are needed to complete parts of the launch procedure, as security precautions, they're distinct from whatever code the President sends to initiate the launch procedure itself (which, at present, I suspect would involve whoever receives the code making frantic phone calls to various people to ask if this is for real or if they need to sedate him).

Georgia Early Voting Statistics 2021 Runoff

So far, 1.33 million people have voted, both absentee and early in-person. That's vs 5 million who voted on Nov 3rd. Since Republicans tend to vote more on election day, rather than early or absentee, we won't really know who is likely to win until Jan 5th.

After seeing this (from 2014) I am not sure if you aren't overestimating the safety procedures...

The Onion continues to have major competition.

President Donald Trump is still eager to push the message that he won the election even though there’s no evidence to support his baseless claims of election fraud. He’s so intent on continuing the efforts that at a Friday meeting he discussed naming attorney Sidney Powell as a special counsel to investigate the presidential election. Powell is the attorney who spewed crackpot conspiracy theories that there was a plot by Venezuela to rig voting machines used in the presidential election. Most people at the meeting opposed the plan, which was first reported by the New York Times but later confirmed by others. It isn’t clear whether Trump will pursue it anyway.
Nevertheless, it looks like the coup of the cuckoos continues.
The meeting comes amid concern by senior White House officials that Trump is increasingly listening to his most fringe advisers and might abuse his power as president in the last weeks in office. Former national security adviser Michael Flynn, for example, has publicly floated the idea of imposing martial law and Trump asked about the idea at the Friday meeting. The White House counsel, Pat A. Cipollone, and the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, reportedly strongly pushed back against the ideas raised by Trump. When the president is “retweeting threats of putting politicians in jail, and spends his time talking to conspiracy nuts who openly say declaring martial law is no big deal, it’s impossible not to start getting anxious about how this ends,” a senior administration official tells Axios.

As Trump spends more time considering conspiracy theories, Rudy Giuliani has been exploring options to seize voting machines.

Gee, I can't wonder why so many people think that Trump wants to be a dictator. I mean, who totally-not-a-dictator doesn't desire to commit a coup using martial law?
