If I were in charge of the UK, I'd ship all the pro Brexiteers to Newfoundland. It's another English speaking island with similar climate, and it is outside the EU, so no more whining.

Scotland seems to have been rather quiet about all this. I can't believe they are eager to take this little economic thrill ride, and if I recall correctly they voted against it. Is the Scotland Independence movement kicking up again at all?

Potentially, yes. You see, one of the major arguments that got a "no" result on the last vote on independence was being promised that we'd stay in the EU... If this all goes south as spectacularly as it could I can easily see a vote up here to flip Westminster the bird and then rejoin the EU in our own right. That would get ugly AF but it could easily happen. I was a reliable Labour or Liberal voter, depending on the candidate, but the clusterfuck May and Corbyn have created has had me voting SNP for the first time in my life.

There's a new rumor around, that Nigel Farage might team up with the Italian government in order to achieve his wet dream of a non deal hard Brexit.

The procedure is simple: an extension is only possible if all 27 governments of the EU do agree with it; Farage wants the Italians to vote no. He told there are some arrangements with Matteo Salvini in place.

How exactly would Nigel Farage "team up" with the Italian government and what's in it for them to do as he asks, at the cost of annoying a lot of other EU member states who would be willing to grant the extension to avoid a chaotic no-deal?

Besides that, I think by far the most likely outcome of refusing the request for an extension would be the immediate revocation of A50.

That would probably cause a large protest vote in favour of British anti-EU parties in the forthcoming European elections, who might then be expected to support the allies of the Italian government (and Hungary, too, and other far-right populists) so I suppose that would be a bonus for the Italians but remember Farage has left UKIP now, and I doubt his new party (whatever it's called) has the resources or the name recognition to have much of an impact in the European elections, so I don't see what's in it for him.

Well, simply put the southern states at the Mediterrenean sea would become the majority in the EU if the UK leaves; this enforcing debt limits would become hard for the EU in case of Italy. That's in for them.

Majority in what sense? I can't get my head round how Brexit would affect the Qualified Majority Voting in the Council of Ministers. What's been the policy conflict between the UK and Italy over debit limits that means removing the UK from the equation would be attractive to Italy? I ask because I don't know.

So I skimmed down the thread and found this:

Now in the case of Mister Garrett there, I've found in the event someone drops an "Educate yourselves!" at the end of a tweet it's often some sort of Trumptard/Bexit Taliban, or Russian. I had a look at the account itself and didn't on the surface appear to be any of that. So I googled "is an MP a Delegate or a Representative?", and I think I got my head around what the difference between the two is, but when I got into the British explainers, my eyes would go buggy at around the fifth paragraph of preamble.

So I think I'll just ask Innula Zenovka.
