That's a difficult question. Because for some strange reason Trump has a lot of cult populist appeal that the GOP in general does not have. It's not clear who would replace him or how strong they would be. It's also possible he gets replaced by a basic republican who is still bad, but not nearly as dangerous as Trump.

I'm not going to be the fat lady singing democracy's eulogy just yet. There's still a lot of time between now and the election. The DNC is going to have to quit trying to push Biden out of the way, and focus on being more aggressive in their campaign, though.

That's how they won. They've intimidated too many dems across the country into quiet self-censorship rather than risk retaliation. They are, at their core, a cultural movement that has embraced the threat of domestic terrorism in order to dominate public discourse.

It's too far gone now, the rest of us are in damage control/survival mode now to turn things around. Too much money and collaboration has entrenched itself too deeply to be rooted out now without some kind of massive external threat to re-unify us. And neither China nor Climate Change are scary enough to the fascist right to make that happen.

SECOND: There are all kinds of options for what just happened at Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, or rather two. There are two kinds of options. False flag? Absolutely could be! Bob Roberts was a great movie! An actual attempted assassin? Could be that too, and we do not know until we know.
