YouTuber Gets Prison Time And Massive Fine For Pranking Homeless Man With Toothpaste-Filled Oreos
What I find most upsetting about this story is that the reactions to it suggest many people either think this is an isolated incident or something new. People have been doing unspeakable things to the homeless and often getting away with it forever.
If you live in a cushy white bubble, it may be understandable that you think this is something new. I've heard stories about people (mostly young men) trying to feed homeless people much worse things than toothpaste, or beating them up just for fun. I've also heard terrifying things about how many homeless women are sexually assaulted. ...and police have historically not taken this seriously.
