I no longer care what the typical finesses and merits of British politics are
Only thing I'm interested in is that there will be finally a decision after 3 years of political strategical games, ritual dances, doing totally nothing and howling at the moon.
Stop the antes, raises and bluffing, UK lay your cards on the table.

The cards Johnson wants us to lay on the table contain a trapdoor that leads to a no-deal Brexit at the end of next year.

They also include a considerable dilution of provisions in the original WA to protect workers' rights and environmental standards.

It's worse deal, in many ways, that was TM's.

Johnson and Rees-Mogg are hoping MPs will take your view, Sid.

I'm praying they won't, because it will be a catastrophe in the making, and this is Parliament's last chance to head it off.

Tusk has already tweeted that he's recommending acceptance of the UKs request, and most analysis is that the EU will accept that.

Now, this is important... If the EU just says "yes", the existing wording of law kicks in without any more action in parliament and the extension is to January. If they propose a different period, that will require parliamentary action which Boris & the hardliners can sink and still cause a no-deal on the 31st.

I'm kinda disappointed they didn't suggest extending it by a Friedman Unit.

Not being even remotely expert in the subtleties of parliamentary parleys, I am nonetheless guessing that Mr. Rees-Mogg's reply translated into American English is "We did consult economists and they told us things (economic consequences) that we did not like nor want to retell to you."

That's more true than you realize. The Brexit agreement was published today. Not the withdrawal agreement which defines how Brexit is to be implemented but the actual Brexit agreement that defines what Brexit means. The government did keep that rather important document secret from everybody, including the MPs for over a year and they weren't actually planning to show it to the MPs until after the parliament had voted for it. Now, I may be overly suspicious but it's not normal procedure for a parliament to pass bills unseen so there is something strange going on here...
tl:dr - Upon leaving the EU, the British Government (not Parliament) will have a little over one year to accept EU's trade policies in order to stay in the customs union (a process which often takes several years) and if they do not accept (and this is very likely) the UK with have the equivalent of a no deal brexit on December 31, 2020

Basically voting for the deal is a vote for no deal.

I'm quoting Phil

Yes and that's only one trap hidden in that bill the government tried to pass unseen through the parliament. Who knows what else is hidden in the text. Fortunately a majority of MPs did have the sense to put the breaks on and tak the time they need to process it all. What is really worrying though, is that more than 300 of them didn't.

Not sure if the Conservatives' graphic design department are trolling us with their choice of typeface or what, but

Comic Sans - the name fits. It may be black comedy but the situation is certainly comic and as for "sans", that means "without"...

Disagree. They should give an extension long enough for the new EU transparency laws that Brexit is really about to bite good and hard.
Not sure if this is the story to which you were referring, but in case it is,

(Sorry)

Transparency != offshoring.
That's the only EU legislation I've seen mentioned in the context of this suggestion. Which legislation do you have in mind, since it's not this?

I ask because I've seen so much nonsense posted in Twitter and elsewhere about impending EU legislation and why we we need to leave to avoid it, which was then reposted in good faith by people who didn't check, that I now tend to look things up when I'm not sure.

Certainly several prominent commentators on legal Twitter, all broadly pro-Remain, seem to doubt the story.
