I would like to learn more about him. I'm still a Kamala fan, but what I've seen/heard about Mayor Pete so far has me intrigued. My only concern so far is that he is still a relative unknown and may not have the brand recognition to beat Trump in 2020. Everyone knows Kamala, but not many know Pete.
What I like about Kamala Harris is that she's a prosecutor - your country will certainly need an experienced prosecutor to clean up after Trump.

Attourney General might be a better position for her than President, though.

AG is a good position for Harris. My Demo team also leaves Warren as Speaker because we need her there. Buttigieg may be POTUS but I haven't decided that yet. Is anybody else developing a fantasy lineup? Shall we play a game?

Biden can be Pete’s VP.

One problem... Warren is a senator, not a congresscritter, and also, not Speaker of the House. Also, I'm still leaning Warren for President. Buttigeig might be a good choice, but he's awfully young to be going into a position that ages everyone horribly.

Doh, yes I mean for Pelosi to remain Speaker, but also for Warren to remain in the Senate because we need her there more than we need her in the Whitehouse. Imagine Warren's ideas being serious debated in a Democrat-controlled Congress with her as Senate Majority Leader and Pelosi as Speaker. It's a whole other world.

In general, I agree - I'd much rather senators stay put, on principle. Senate is too important to be treated as a stepping stone. On the other hand, if she's the best for the job, well, I would like to see a female president. For the record, Harris is also a senator.

That's a good point. We need all the democrats we can get in Senate, and both Warren and Harris are valuable there. Buttigieg is looking like a very good candidate for President. But can he beat Trump? I'm not sure of that yet. Thankfully, he's got some time to get himself out there and make himself known.

Given such a large field of competent Democrats, I think it quite likely that some of them would end up in positions besides VP. Look at how Hillary ended up working for Obama.

This article is clearly written by someone who doesn't think much of him, but it raise some points which, if true, perhaps suggest he has feet of clay, to say the least.

Thanks for that. It's a bit of an eye-opener, and it confirms to me that we really don't know him that well. If he were to be nominated as the Democratic candidate for President, I have to wonder not only whether he can beat Trump, but also if he is running for all the right reasons. Or will he just be "more of the same."

We've got about a year to figure that out.

David Futrelle, of We Hunted the Mammoth, suggests that some of the attacks on Lucy Flores for her allegations about Joe Biden seem very similar to the attacks on Christine Blasey Ford from Republican supporters of Brett Kavanaugh:

I am not following the early Democratic race. Part of it is a pragmatic fatalism: I will vote for whatever Dem runs against Trump, even if I have to hold my nose while doing so. I know some folks who are excited about Pete Buttehwhat, but I know nothing about the guy. The New Yorker did a short piece on him: Pete Buttigieg’s Quiet Rebellion David Remnick, the editor-in-chief, also interviewed him: Pete Buttigieg on How He Plans to Win the Democratic Nomination and Defeat Trump

Based on very little, I like Cory Booker. He doesn’t seem to be gaining traction, however, and I’ve read a lot of suggestions that he’s fake. To me, that is a bit like saying you don’t like this lemon because it’s sour but all the other lemons are fine.

Whatever. Just soundly defeat Trump, Future Democratic Nominee, so we can watch history grind him into the mud.

At this point, I'm tempted to specifically vote for the best female candidate, regardless - the coverage for men compared to women has me furious, and while I know it's not likely Bernie's, Pete's, Cory's, or Beto's fault, they do all seem to have decided that no woman could be Twitler, and that is their fault.

Ok what in the actual fuck is with this false equivalency? Kavanaugh was accused of raping multiple women. The accusations against Biden are about being made to feel unconformtable. Even speaking of them together implies that Biden is a rapist like Kavanaugh. All of this feels like a hit against Biden, and it's not about not believing women, it's about being pissed that this is being made into a hugely overblown issue that conflates it with the #metoo movement and rape and harassment. It's absurd.
