Reuters Yemen's Houthis strike at Israel as attacks on Iran continue

I take the "if" as meaning "even if" -- there is an off-ramp, but even if he takes it (which he may not do) that won't repair the damage to the US' reputation that has already been done. That's how I read it, anyway. Could have been clearer, I suppose.

I get what you're saying. Trump has done so much damaging, and reputation destroying things it's hard to keep them all straight. This is why there are so many articles about him that kind of boil down to "Just in case you missed the first n times he recked the USA's reputation, HERE IS ANOTHER!"
