It shouldn't even be close! How are so many Americans okay with electing a traitorous, Fascist felon in any office, let alone that of the President of the United States?

According to my partner's echo chamber, it's because he's the only person who can do anything right.
I mean sure he raped underage prostitutes, has a current and past history of racism and hate, can't verbally complete a single sentence, and if he does nearly complete one it's a total lie. But all politicians do bad things and lie, right?
I've asked "why Trump?" and all I get back is a sudden and inexplicable inability to speak or understand English.

This whole Trump idolization thing makes me feel ill. How can such a large portion of the population be so dumb and deluded? NJ has early in person voting starting Saturday. I know where I will be going.

At this point Inam not sure its entirely just ignorance, its malice and fear centered on the fact that religeon, esepcially their religeon, is quickly and rapidly going out of style.

Its just anger at those they blame for it and fear that their entire world view and justification for existing is simply wrong.

At least a dozen mailed ballots intercepted in Mesa County before Colorado voters received them

At least a dozen mailed ballots were intercepted and cast on the Western Slope before voters received them, according to the Colorado Secretary of State's Office. Three of those ballots were cast and counted in Mesa County before the county clerk was able to pull them from the final tally.

Colorado's Department of State learned about the intercepted ballots on Tuesday.

"The ballots were filled out, the return envelopes were signed, they were then returned to a USPS blue box, so that's a postal box, not a ballot drop box," said Secretary of State Jena Griswold in a news conference on Thursday afternoon. "The issue was discovered during the signature verification process."

Griswold said that four of the ballots made it through the initial round of signature verification and that at least three voters had received communication from the Mesa County Clerk. Mesa County mailed two of the voters affected to ask them to cure their ballots, meaning to fix their signatures because the signatures were rejected during the signature verification process.

Palmer, who has his own questionable backstory, starting with the fact that he isn’t Black, according to an Associated Press review of public records, open source data and interviews with a half-dozen people who interacted closely with Palmer over the past two decades. The records and personal accounts offer a portrait of an individual who has repeatedly been accused of defrauding business partners and lenders, has struggled with drug addiction and whose home was raided by the FBI over a decade ago. He also owes more than $6.7 million in back taxes to the state of New York.

I wasn’t too proud about subscribing in the first place last year, but I was using it to order supplies for work.

I have to wonder if he cares much about WAPO, and I figure he is much more invested in keeping people subscribed to Amazon.

Freedom Caucus leader endorses radical proposal for North Carolina to hand its electoral votes to Trump

The chair of the conservative House Freedom Caucus says the North Carolina Legislature should consider allocating the state’s presidential electors to Donald Trump even before votes are counted in the swing state.

Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.) said Thursday that such a step by North Carolina’s Republican-controlled Legislature “makes a lot of sense” given the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene in the western part of the state. Counties in that region are expected to vote heavily for Trump.

Potential difficulties with voting in the hurricane-damaged area would be a basis for the state Legislature to declare in advance that Trump should win the state’s 16 electoral votes, Harris said at a Republican Party dinner in Maryland’s Talbot County.

“You statistically can go and say, ‘Look, you got disenfranchised in 25 counties. You know what that vote probably would have been,’” Harris said during an exchange with a speaker at the dinner.
