I'm not sure what their point is. They want "an informal, virtual snap primary across the country prior to the DNC convention in August" because they think this would give Kamala Harris and her VP more democratic legitimacy, but since as yet no serious opposition to her candidacy seems to have emerged, I don't see the point.

They quote one of their leaders as saying

Imagine our first Black woman president not having won some sort of public nomination process. The pundits would immediately label it as affirmative action or a DEI move, and any progress made by a President Harris would be on shaky foundations. If Kamala Harris is to be the nominee, it must be through a process that upholds democratic principles and public participation.

but I would have thought that her having won the election would be a sufficiently firm foundation for her presidency.

Having read the Wikipedia article about them and some of the governments they support (Cuba, Venezuela) I'm not sure I'd want to take their advice on democratic procedures terribly seriously.

Here's a little hint: if you check your news sources with a reputable vetting site, like https://mediabiasfactcheck.com (and I'm sure there are others) you will stop yourself from posting non-factual information. Here is what they report for the New York Post:

• Overall we rate the New York Post on the far end of Right-Center Biased due to story selection that typically favors the Right and Mixed (borderline questionable) for factual reporting based on several failed fact checks.

Now, note they give two ratings: one for political bias and another for factual reporting. Personally, I don't care much if a source is right or left so long as they get the facts right. I can draw my own analysis, I'm a life-long news junky.

But their having a "Mixed" rating for fact-checking is something I don't put up with from any news agency. Facts are not opinions. They can be slanted, but not fabricated, and while any reporting of a fact does not need to be "the truth, and nothing but the truth" just from a length and complexity argument, anything presented as a fact must be in line with its' broader essence.

According to the Harris campaign’s Michigan team, talking to Michigan Advance on background, in the 48 hours after Sunday’s announcement by President Joe Biden that he was withdrawing from the race and endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, they saw their largest days of volunteer recruitment of the campaign.

The “significant, measurable increase in grassroots recruitment for volunteers” resulted in more than 1,500 volunteers joining the effort, bringing the total number to 3,000 people signed up to work with the campaign online.

Additionally, the campaign says dozens of Michiganders showed up at volunteer events for the first time ever, as well as meeting with organizers at field offices to learn how they could get involved with the campaign.

That tracks with reporting on a new memo from the national Harris campaign Wednesday morning which indicated over 100,000 people signed up to volunteer since Sunday.

The Trump campaign said Thursday it would not agree to a general election debate with Vice President Harris “until Democrats formally decide on their nominee” after Harris said she was ready to debate the former president.

“Given the continued political chaos surrounding Crooked Joe Biden and the Democrat Party, general election debate details cannot be finalized until Democrats formally decide on their nominee,” Trump communications director Steven Cheung said in a statement.

Cheung claimed there “is a strong sense by many in the Democrat Party … that Kamala Harris is a Marxist fraud who cannot beat President Trump, and they are still holding out for someone ‘better,'” citing former President Obama’s lack of endorsement to date, though Obama is expected to back Harris publicly soon.

“Therefore, it would be inappropriate to schedule things with Harris because Democrats very well could still change their minds,” Cheung said.

Trump and President Biden agreed to two debates, one on June 27 and the other on Sept. 10. Biden’s disastrous performance in the June debate sparked calls from Democrats for him to step aside as the nominee, which he did on Sunday in the face of mounting pressure.
