Imagine being able to scream at the police to go away and slam the door in their face and they're just like "Welp, guess we have to leave and not care about the reason we were called anymore." If anyone is still confused about what exactly "privilege" is - that's it, right there. I'm pretty sure they were legally empowered to have done more in that moment, but they were simply not inclined to.

Our children are being killed daily all over the US in shootouts and what seems like monthly mass shootings and that STILL doesn't change our stupid gun laws and gun availability. Every night on the news, just in Central Florida alone, there are at least two shootings being reported and most of them involve children. If dying children won't change people's minds, honestly Sid, I just don't know what will.

A shoe store owner aiming at would-be shoplifters opened fire in a California mall but struck a 9-year-old girl waiting in line to see the Easter Bunny, police said.

The child was flown to Loma Linda Medical Center after the Tuesday shooting in the Mall of Victor Valley and had surgery. Her injuries were not life threatening. She was released in good condition Thursday, said hospital spokesperson Briana Pastorino.

Marquel Cockrell, co-owner of Sole Addict in the Victor Valley Mall, fled after the shooting, Victorville, California, police said, and was arrested hours later by the Nevada Highway Patrol. He is facing attempted murder charges.

People are worried that Oregon will be innundated with suicide tourists now. 'Suicide Tourists' would be a great name for a rock band. Also, Oregon's capitol building is imposing! Looks like an evil lair. I don't think I ever saw brutalism done in marble before. That is brutalism, right?

Female chess player reports harassment at Reykjavik Open

23-year-old Tallulah Roberts from Jersey in the UK decided she would play her first international tournament on the island. Roberts has made a name for herself as a chess streamer on Twitch, gaining almost 7,600 followers under the name lularobs. She started playing chess at the end of 2020, but has already reached club player level.

On Twitter she regularly updated her 8,000 followers on her progress and results during the tournament. However, some of the updates weren't very positive. She reported this incident after the blitz tournament.

Art Deco is known for it's complex geometry and ornamentation. Stripped Classical is know for the opposite of those things. Cast Concrete is usually associated with Modernism and Brutalism. It's a difficult building to pin down.

I'm not a fan of the term Greco Deco. It was cooked up by an art historian (James Goode), and is not, that I'm aware, a fully accepted appellation.
