Went to an actual honest to Bob movie theater today. To catch a matinee showing of 'Free Guy'. Sat exactly in the seat I like best. I think there was a couple sitting way in the back.

Two solid thumbs up. I enjoyed the heck out of it. I'd say more but ... no spoilers. No end-credits scene either. :)

Homophobic heckles are the worst. At one of my early gigs in Burnley, there was one guy being repeatedly vile. I ended up sitting on his knee and giving him a lapdance to teach him a lesson. I wouldn’t get away with that nowadays because I didn’t ask for consent.

To have something on in the background, I let netflix bombard me with 'Cosmic Sin'. To say 'he phoned it in' would be a dramatic exaggeration.

As far as movies go, this one took a dirt road around "So Bad It's Good", broke an axle, fell into a ravine and died there after Search and Rescue decided to stay home and have waffles instead.

I love how people are still talking about this movie years later.

The sound mixing in Fury Road is so top notch too.

Oh hey, Hawkeye is here.

The trailer leads one to believe it could at least be somewhat lighthearted. I'd be willing to watch that. Besides, I like Hailee Steinfeld. I want to see how she turns out as Hawkeye Jr.

Rogers the Musical is now trending (0:06 in the video).

Is anyone else watching "Only Murders in the Building"? (Hulu / Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez)

There's only a few episodes available so far and I'm so completely and totally hooked! I can't wait for more! :)

It just occurred to me that if Ferris Bueller happened in 2020, Ferris wouldn't be doing anything out of the ordinary. Every student is probably using their computer to goof off instead of go to virtual class. There are probably a million different programs that do everything Ferris did to get out of school. The pillows with the pulley would have to be done the old fashioned way, but the phone calls wouldn't have to happen. He would just send an email with forged headers. You get a program to move the mouse around a bit, then loop a video of you watching the lecture when it comes time to skype or zoom into class, and you're good.

As expected, it's clearly based on the Matt Fraction Hawkeye run, which means it should be pretty good. It's one of the most popular/praised comic runs in recent times

Matthew Broderick returned as the High School Principle in a more contemporary serialized "reboot"(-ish) of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" in 2019.

It's kinda funny seeing Broderick's career... it's almost as if he's portraying some alternate universe version of himself.

A computer hacker that nearly started WW3 (war games), who used his hacking skills to re-invented himself as
popular slacker kid(ferris bueller)
He graduates high school (barely) and goes to boot camp (Biloxi Blues)
washes out and gets mixed up with a shady restauranteur (The Freshman)
struggles with a clingy utility worker (The Cable Guy)
settles into a job as a teacher (Election)
Eventually gets promoted to Principal (Daybreak)

Oh yeah, I loved daybreak! Well, the first half of it was great. The second half wasn't as good, but it was still a fun show.

My sentiments exactly, great concept but they milked it a bit too long. :)

I thought Dune would be out by now, but I think the weird release schedule is what confused me. It's strange that America isn't always the first to get big budget first run Hollywood films any more, especially since we built Hollywood with our taxes.

The reason they do that now is so the film isn't pirated from the US before it opens in other countries, as used to happen on a regular basis.

CBS apparently has all of these series called FBI Something. Like how there used to be CSI Miami and CSI New York.

The advertising is pushing them as "The FBIs" which feels a little weird. Like FBI really isn't something has a "plural form" so it's odd.
