OK, fine. 'Stole' is a strong term to use. Hillary purchased the primary. Happy?
No.
I still say the Hillary-Bernie split that started in 2016 is the most relevant split in the democratic party today,
Bullshit. It started in the '80s after the shock of Reagan winning in 1980. The Democrats started following the Republicans to the right when I was still in college. I would say the party was to the right of the voters by 2000 except that the reaction to 9/11 made me realize just how far to the right the US population already was.

Bernie lost because the Overton window is now somewhere to the right of Nixon. And Nixon was the Trumpiest president other than Trump since Jackson. These days, the US is so far right the the US left is "people who aren't actively trying to eliminate democracy".

I can get behind that. You're absolutely right, the democratic party elites panicked and tightened their grip on primaries after Carter won. Their grip was solidified under Bill Clinton. The split between the working class and elites goes back farther than that, if you really want to get into it. I don't think Andrew Jackson had a progressive bone in his body.

What I mean when I say that 2016 is the most relevant split today, is that it began the pattern in recent, new media memory, where the party's presidential nominee is chosen in smokey back rooms, instead of by the constituents. Biden won his primary the same way Hillary won hers, and we haven't forgotten that, but the Hillary win is seen as somehow more evil, and corrupt. That's probably because she lost to Trump. No matter how many problems I might have with Biden, at least he didn't lose to Trump. At the same time, corrupt people like Buttigeg and Harris will not be getting any love on my ballot if they try to run again. Letting Shadow Corp count the early primary votes, then clearing the field in one day, to allow Biden to win SC, and blacking out Bernie again... that was filthy. I'm not interested in supporting anybody who was a part of that project.

Relevancy is so subjective, though. I think a big measure of relevancy is what you talk about. When I sit around and talk with my democrat friends, we are a lot more likely to talk about Bernie getting robbed than we are to talk about the Carter and Regan era. Maybe we have short memories, or maybe it's more about the fact that most of the 2016 players are still in play. Bernie isn't dead or retired yet, and people like AOC and Fetterman are rising stars, so it seems like 2016 is something that matters a lot more, right now.

Or maybe because Hillary is a woman. :hellokitty:

Since I'm not familiar with the details of who does what in the US political system, could you please explain in a bit more details what President Sanders (President anyone, really) would do to "an end to mass incarceration" in the US?
It's already being done in some states - especially for minor drug offenses. Not only pardoning the prisoner but expunging the prison record. In some cases, even paying a compensation fee. Here's a rough breakdown on the numbers:

I love the smell of schadenfreude in the morning. Or is that odor just plain old stupidity?

MyPillow Guy Pulls Millions In Ads From Fox News In Spat Over Conspiracy Theories

The Wall Street Journal reports that CEO Mike Lindell is unhappy with the right-wing network for refusing to air his latest ad.

“I am pulling everything!” Lindell told Salon, adding that the boycott begins “immediately.”

The latest ad isn’t about his pillows. It’s about his coming “cyber symposium,” where he plans to disseminate more of his outlandish and disproved claims of election fraud, the Journal reported.

“Shame on you, Fox News,” he told Salon. “Shame on them!”

Lindell has previously claimed that the symposium’s evidence will be so strong that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will resign and allow Donald Trump to return, apparently forgetting that such a double resignation would instead elevate House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to the Oval Office, since she is next in line in the presidential succession.

That's not what turned the Democratic party into a conservative party. It was watching Reagan win. And then Bush.

Steve: The secret of George Bush's appeal?
Agent: That's right.
Steve: George Bush doesn't have any appeal.
Agent: Well, that's the secret!

-- Bloom County
And the problem wasn't anyone "cheating", it's that even people who self-identify as "left" still think of Reagan as a good guy. And the language he introduced is still fucking resonating among people who think they're left-wing. Like fuck they are.

By getting the most votes from everyone who voted in the primary. How nefarious can ya get, eh?
Nobody believes he won those votes fair and square. He could never have won if he didn't do sleazy things. First, in order to win, he had to have Buttigeg count the early votes, though his Shadow Corp app. Then, Biden had to twist arms in smoky back rooms to convince all his opponents to quit on the same day, to give Biden the victory in SC. Then, Biden had to use this to give media cover to black out Bernie again. Biden did all of these things because he had to. There is no path to victory for Biden without the DNC coronating him in smoky back rooms, full of shadows and cockroaches, away from public scrutiny, before any constituents get to vote. If you want to get behind that kind of governance, more power to ya. It takes a lot of bravery to openly argue for feudalism in America, in 2021.

Biden is seen as slightly less sleazy than Hillary because he didn't play the superdelegate game like Hillary did, and in the end he beat Trump, which Hillary is uniquely incapable of doing. Biden is no angel, though. Even if we excuse his lack of support for nationalized health care... he wrote the patriot act, he hates GLBT people, and made the drug war worse every chance he got. He's a slime ball.

Meanwhile, Bernie is still out there fighting for what he believes in, because he actually believes in things. He doesn't slink away into obscurity when an election is over, like Clinton and Biden do.

2015? Seriously?
No one would write that article in 2021 because there's hardly anything to write about her that anyone cares about. A google news search for Hillary Clinton came up with this in case there was any doubt.

Or, no one would write that article in 2021 because she's not running for president. Also, your Google news search mojo is off if you're only pick up something from June.

I saw those. None of them have much of anything to do with her. The first is using her as a metaphor. The next two are about her having a meeting (who cares?). The last is about someone she endorsed, not her.

A story about someone meeting with people is about those people, and that someone. If there was "hardly anything to write about her that anyone cares about" in the story, they wouldn't have written about it.

I said "hardly anyone" and out of the thousands of news stories there are probably at least two people who care about that one.
