Well Trump likes his tacky kind of glamour, and he likes it big. So probably first he will get back to NYC, and then try to get into the gambling industry again. But this time not in Atlantic city, but Las Vegas.
Las Vegas is exactly the type of city which has that type of glamour that attracts Trump like a moth to a light. And contrary to NYC he's still got a real chance to build the biggest phallus type of building in town.
Reviving this thread because it became relevant again.
Trump is never going to return to New York to live there. He hates this city, he'll never forgive New York for opposing him. He also let thousands of New Yorkers die from Covid-19 to get back at them for being a blue state, so the hatred is mutual.
Trump doesn't have the guts to confront any of the people whose parents he killed, so he'll at most do quick visits to Trump Tower to conduct some shady business with his Russian patrons or when he has a court date. He's going to sneak in and out of the building like a thief in the middle of the night. But it'll essentially feel like a cage to him and be a constant reminder of the fact that he deserves to be in prison.
He already would have sold it off to a Russian oligarch if his ego, business and offspring weren't keeping him from doing so.
He also won't go to Las Vegas: his last foray into the world of casinos ended with a disaster. Also, if Vegas had been an option back then, he would have gone there instead of Atlantic City - I think he knew that turf had already been claimed by predators that are just as nasty as him, but way more competent, so he would have been eaten alive if he had entered their territory. That hasn't really changed.
And in addition to the above, it looks like he's going to lose Nevada, so that's another big no-no.
I think when people try to figure out how Trump will react to losing the election, they need to remember that he's really not a complex character.
To quote Bronxelf: "He's a toaster".
Bread goes in, toast comes out.
And one of the many things this simpleton doesn't like doing is contingency planning, so whenever one of his crackpot plans falls apart, it sends him flailing. That's why he's squealing like a stung pig at the moment.
And like a wounded animal, he's going to retreat to his safe spot. In Trump's case, that's Mar-a-Lago or the East Wing of the White House, but he clearly prefers his Florida residence.
His presence at the White House mostly serves to maintain the facade of "doing work". But that won't be necessary anymore after his defeat, so he'll just fly to Florida, stay there and let the White House run on autopilot. I'm certain he won't show up at Biden's inauguration ceremony.
I suppose Twitter is finally going to block his account for calling for a civil war and encouraging terror attacks, and Melania might file for a divorce soon.
So that's where he's going to stay - alone, castrated and without a voice. At least until the federal marshals come to take him away.
