Milk carton (cardboard) spouts have been harder to open more and more for me. Im always ripping them when I try to “squeeze’ them open. Maybe they want me to shell out for the more expensive twist cap ones…
Now I kind of feel bad for you, lol - even way back in my earliest school days I was able to open milk cartons in like 2 seconds!

I know how to open milk cartons. I just find the they aren’t made the same anymore. At least the brand I buy which is basically the last one left that’s sold without a twist cap here. They rip easily now.

Ah okay. I mean, I also haven't had to open a carton of milk since I was in school, so it's entirely possible if I tried today I would have the same trouble. Like maybe companies nowadays use different glues or cardboards that behave differently.

Cereal boxes are like that, for me. I used to be able to open the flap with no problems but lately it feels like I can't do it without ripping the box flap in half, so that it no longer closes nicely with the little tab-slot and I usually have to cinch or roll down the inner bag or even put the cereal in some other container to keep it fresh.

I just cut into a coffee pod trying to cut evenly across the line.

You fool no one. Every outsider knows milk comes in bags in Canada.

It's because sometimes the machines use too much glue. Keep an eye on how much glue is used on each package over time and you'll see it. The machines are no more infallible than the humans that program and/or maintain them.
