What kind of name is "John" to you?

I just want to say that I do not judge others, and women engaging in sex work of their own free will should be open and legal. Supporting sex workers is a good thing, and you have nothing to be ashamed of.

It's the most generic name of all generic names. Also my uncle who owned a farm. He was OK far as I could tell but his kids were stereotypical country bullies.

John is one of my middle names. (Born Catholics tend to have a 3-4 names before the family name over here)
Nothing wrong with that name at all IMHO.

... it is my given name.
Mine too. Hate it.

Imagine being back in grade school, and the 'johns' in the bathroom also have your last name printed on them ("Crane" in my case, not "Standard"). Now take a moment and add the middle name "Philip" ... Yeah seriously. The number of ways other school kids tried to make jokes about it over and over... Ugh.

My friend in high school was also named "John" so I invented "Jopsy" and have gone by it or "Jops" ever since. It's been 40 years now.

John P. Crane -> J.P.C. -> Jopsy

My parents gave me my father's name. So while I grew up they used my middle name for everything, and as soon as I moved out I switched.
