Been replaying classic Final Fantasy 7 on the PC. Been having a blast, though even with a controller the controls for many minigames is a bit wonky.... still having fun.

This was the version I played back when it was new. I don't know how the controls on whayever version you have, but when I played it it was basically all centered around the tenkey numberpad. Like the movement was the numbers and the actions were the *, +, -, etc. You could basically play it all with one hand.

Which would be great for an RPG, if you were left handed on your writing.
So I use an xbox controller for the most part. It's usually great, except that the minigames will often force me to use random buttons on the keyboard. Very annoying.

Back when I played it on the Playstation, this of course wasn't a problem. All the relevant buttons were on the controller. I've been messing around a bit with controller support.... but don't want to get deep into mods.

Haven't looked at time played in a long while.

Can't get the time for certain ones, like Doom (which I played a lot in the '90s), WoW, The Sims, Second Life, Star Trek Online, etc.

According to Steam:
Crusader Kings III - 987.4 hours - History Simulator

Cities Skylines - 251 hours (last played 03/11/2021) - City Simulator

College Kings 1 & 2 - 26.6 hours + 14.4 hours - College/University Simulator (18+)

Sid Meier's Civ VI - 33.6 (only counts the time played in 2025) - Civilization Simulator

Desert Stalker - 21.4 hours - Post-Apocalyptic Simulator (18+)
(can seem to find the release trailer for this one off Steam)
Can find the music from the game, and game-play videos, but not release trailer.
Desert Stalker - Arabian Nights

Leap of Faith - 15.5 hours - Slice of Life Simulator (18+)
Drifty Games - Leap of Faith [Game Teaser] - [Music by Daniel Garavini]

Goat Simulator - 6.4 hours (last played 11/6/2015) - Goat Simulator/Zombie Simulator
Goat Simulator Official Launch Trailer

Weird how official release trailers don't really highlight what the game actually has the player do in the game. Like Crusader Kings III kind of implies there is, at least at some point in the game-play, 3D simulation elements. And I want to play whatever game Civ VI is advertising for (Civ VI is not a 3D Simulation game, at least not like in the trailer). Goat Simulator seems closet to actual gameplay.
Since April:
The Precinct - 72.5 hours

Being a DIK - 57 hours

Ravager - 10.7 hours

Star Trek: Resurgence - 10.1 hours

Cabernet - 7.4 hours

Mice Tea - 5 hours

Invincible Presents: Atom Eve - 4.3 hours

Been replaying Empyrion Galactic survivor. It's been a LONG time so a lot has changed since the Beta days. Having to redesign all my builds, haha. Just finished putting warp on my SV. Will be trying to gather shit for my new CV design! Having fun.

Finally got around to Baulder's Gate 3. Keep restarting to try different classes and switch choices that looked good at the moment. Currently running a Drow Arcane Archer.

This is my good-guy run.

I am so disappointed that Baldur's Gate 3 has never truly clicked with me like I expected it to. People are obsessed with it, and for some reason in mostly leaves me cold. I feel like I am missing something.

I think it has the problem that a lot of games that build in player choice with consequences have that often I can't agree with any of the options, even for roleplay purposes. Like they give three degrees of bad choices and a goodie-two-shoes option but they ignore perfectly logical alternatives to force you into a limited number of general paths. They try to make parts "gritty" by not having any real good options that don't get punished immediately.

I've been obsessed with this little early access gem... called: "net.attack()"

There's no "point and shoot" there's just programming your weapons and dodging foes as you 'hack chips' and scoop up resources and upgrades.

What keeps me coming back to it is that every run is different depending on what types of 'modules' you choose. The more complexity and damage something does, the lower the chance of it triggering or the more 'milliseconds' it costs to recharge that whole weapon branch. Running high cost things in parallel makes them shoot faster... but sometimes a recursive loop that keeps going and going is worth the slow firing rate.

Catchy music, cute graphics, deceptively simple and easy to learn... I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up. =)

I am playing Diablo IV with a friend who has never played any Diablo games before. It is a lot of fun playing through with someone the entire way that is experiencing it for the first time.
I was all excited for the new season, and the rumors were rampant that a Paladin class would arrive.

Well, yes and no. The season began on schedule. I started another sorc (lightning) but apparently the Paladin is only available if you shell out the big bucks for the expansion. Never mind that I've played all 11 seasons so far without fail on my original paid game. Now they demand $70 for the expansion!

I am not a rich person by any means. If it was critical, I could probably swing the money but I'm sitting here asking myself "why?". I like DIablo. I think I've gotten my money out of it over the years (game versions 1-IV) but times are now officially tough. I'm going to cut some game expenses so I can do other things. Not sure what. I didn't want to make this choice but Blizzard hasn't done quite enough to convince me that I should spend that much.

The expanion is $40. It is just a ploy to get people to preorder most expenive super deluxe version of the expansion to play the class early. Classic FOMO.

Hogwarts Legacy, got it for free in the Epic Store. It is one of the gifts in December, you can still get it there until 18th of Dec.

Other free games later this month include Total war: Warhammer, Detroit: Become Human and Read dead Redemption 2.

On a side note, you can also get a Chocolate Frog backbling for Fortnite if you play before the 18th.

Rowling being shitty aside, I played this game around release to 100% completion, its honestly, a lot of fun gameplay wise. I also found it amusing at times how much it was at odds with being a video game where you fight people, and a story about a child learning magic. Like Avada Kedavra is fobidden, but transmogifying a dude into an exploding barrel and yeeting him at his friend, obliterating both, is apparently just fine, so long as they are pochers.

Random side note, I actually got my copy from a random raffle in Second Life that I came across one day and decided to enter because, why not.

That's so much better than $70, at least from the standpoint of my mental sticker shock. But I'm still dubious about the advantages. I started and am now playing a lightning Sorceress, she's fun but I'm still fondly remembering season 3 (I think?) when my Bloodwave necro lay waste to Hell.

Waiting for my paragon ranks before I go thumbs up or down on this season. The best thing I can say right now is that my sorceress is busier than Beebo's cat on a hot tin roof yet still has managed to survive to mid 20s. :yarrr:

As we all know - just when you think you've "got it", you don't got it.
