Indeed, that's a direct gift from God.And it should be noted that spontaneous fermentation is a thing. Bears have been observed seeking out fermented honey, and it is likely that humans developed mead the same way. Apples and grapes have wild yeast on the skins. Pressed juice will ferment easily.
When I was small, some blackbirds got drunk on the pyracantha berries that had fermented on the bush in front of our house. I came home from school to find the birds behaving very strangely, walking around in our small front yard and perching on the bush in large numbers. We had like 10 ancient and huge blackberry trees in our backyard when I was a kid and we were stationed in Omaha Nebraska.
