Trump is lazy innovative: American legal experts raised many eyebrows about how Trump was able to sign so many executive orders on day 1. Since during his first term the orders were sloppy and didn't hold up in court many thought that Trump would avoid this mistake now.

Turns out it's worse this time: some of the orders were at least created with the help of AI, if not even written by AI.

Just as to be expected by this stable genius... question is only if they were using ChatGPT or Grok.

I asked Grok to write an executive order for Trump to sign banning diet Pepsi and mandating diet Coke on US government premises

EXECUTIVE ORDER

SUBJECT: Diet Coke to be the Exclusive Diet Beverage on All Government Premises

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, it is hereby ordered as follows:

Section 1. Policy. It is the policy of the United States to promote and ensure the health, safety, and prosperity of its citizens. In pursuit of this policy, I, Donald J. Trump, have determined that Diet Coke, a beverage known for its excellence and unmatched taste, shall be the sole diet beverage allowed on all federal government premises.

Section 2. Prohibition of Diet Pepsi.

  • a. Effective immediately, the sale, distribution, or provision of Diet Pepsi or any of its variants on any property owned or leased by the Federal Government is strictly prohibited.
  • b. All current stocks of Diet Pepsi on government premises must be removed within 3 days of the issuance of this order.
Section 3. Mandate for Diet Coke.

  • a. All cafeterias, vending machines, and other food service outlets on government property shall exclusively offer Diet Coke as the only diet cola beverage.
  • b. Federal agencies are directed to enter into negotiations with The Coca-Cola Company to ensure an adequate supply of Diet Coke at competitive pricing.
Section 4. Implementation.

  • a. The Secretary of Health and Human Services, in consultation with the General Services Administration, shall oversee the implementation of this order.
  • b. Within 14 days from the date of this order, all federal departments and agencies shall submit a plan for compliance to the Office of Management and Budget.
Section 5. Penalties.

  • Non-compliance with this order may result in disciplinary actions, including but not limited to, fines, suspension from government purchasing contracts, or other sanctions as deemed appropriate by federal law enforcement or regulatory bodies.
Section 6. General Provisions.

  • a. This order shall be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
  • b. This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right or benefit, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, or entities, its officers, employees, or agents, or any other person.
Section 7. Effective Date. This order is effective immediately upon signing.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this day of [INSERT DATE], in the year of our Lord two thousand twenty-five, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-ninth.

Donald J. Trump

President of the United States of America

Could you ask Grok to create an executive order selling or transferring the state of Minnesota to either Canada or to the EU? I think a lot of us need to hide out for the next four years, and there are still some inexpensive places to live in Poland, the former East Germany, and Slovakia. I could be an Esse for a few years, it'd force me to go beyond my High School German. I'll just ... find someone ... to slip it into his pile.

Part of why I don't vote is that none of this makes sense to me.
Who collects these numbers?
Are there receipts?
What's the punishment for just fudging the numbers?
How would we know if someone wasn't just fudging the numbers?
How many signatures are required to reject a ballot?
Do the individual voters get notified when their ballots are challenged and/or rejected?
How would we know if votes are counted at all?

Elections are on a schedule, right? It's not like someone randomly wakes up and rings a bell for voting to end.
If someone can't be trusted to be on time to something that was scheduled years ahead of time, how can they be trusted to pick world leaders?
If someone can't be trusted to count postage stamps, how can they be trusted to pick world leaders?
California sometimes goes a little overboard with ballot initiatives, especially on issues that our elected reps don't want to champion. Each voter is asked to way in on school bond issues, developmental zoning stuff, tax adjustments/allocations, each election it's like 20+ different things. Some are astroturf corporate backed policy changes they can't get past our elected reps, others are grass roots efforts to fight/undo policy changes that shouldn't have happened.

We don't get a receipt with everything we voted for, but we do get a receipt letting us know when our ballot has been tabulated. And while we do often use electronic voting equipment, we're still putting a printed results page into the ballot box and can double check it before we do. And there's tracking that will catch if someone tries running off to another precinct to cast a 2nd provisional ballot.

I don't know about other states, but I have faith in California's election process.

What I struggle with most, other than detangling the language of the various initiatives to tell if they're grift-supporting or genuinely helpful... is the school superintendent/sherrif/judges that we also vote for. I really do not want some right-wing creationist-pushing fascist shithead making decisions for our schools. It's hard to find information that hasn't been completely sanitized by one side, or distorted by the other.

It's stressful, and I sorta respect that the responsibility of being an -informed- voter is a lot for some people. They should still try, if only to vote against the obvious worser of two evils.

Informative stuff
Not sure why I'm springboarding off this but w/e.

Those who voted for the worser of two evils, that's easy, never have to be kind or polite to them again unless they show some openness to recalculation their life's actions.

Those who wouldn't take an action at all, as I've been treating them, has been:

"Ah, here's a list of things that happened in the last six hours that you did not oppose in a meaningful way."

And stick to my guns. "You didn't oppose this in any meaningful way." "You're just a mouthpiece on the internet and are still not opposing it in any meaningful way."

Staircase wit:

"You're only concerned about people judging you poorly and not about any of the victims of this evil that you did not oppose in any meaningful way."

I think half the voters are actually -wanting- things to get worse. For OTHER people, so that they don't have to share what's left over with them anymore.

It's like rats, pushing and shoving each other overboard so they can fight over the dwindling space remaining before the ship sinks.

Trump's pretty docile when confronted directly by surprise: Californian governor Newsom wanted to have a talk with Trump since days to discuss the wild fire damages. Trump just ghosted him.

So when Trump decided to fly to California, Newsom went unannounced to the airstrip, waited for Trump and talked directly to him after he went out of the airplane.

The best part about being able to do mail in voting is being able to research up the people like Judges whom you never hear anything about.

Its still hard to do, at least in my experience, there is very little info about most of them online.

Did Trump show up to make a stunt speech where he throws water bottles at the crowd and talks about how he is helping fight the fires with the water that "Evil Commiefornia" insists on "wasting"?

There are three fundamental principles without which a free and democratic society cannot exist:

Egalitarianism, Solidarity and Pluralism.

America nowadays is lacking in all three of these. Its population is divided into those who reject those principles and those who don't.

The people who don't hate freedom and democracy make up a majority of the population - unfortunately, that doesn’t translate into support, which is evident in the number of people who cling to excuses for not participating in the process.

I mean, what was the last time you heard someone talk about the importance of pluralism?

How many people do even know what that word means?

The president of Colombia refused to let the first wave of migrants being deported from the USA back to the state land. They were deported with military aircrafts.

The president argued that these people should be allowed to use normal airlines instead to maintain their dignity. Trump then immideately replied with the threat of 25% tarriffs and starting a full blown trade war.

Colombia backed down now and has no further objections so far.

In other media: Colombia resumes ‘removal’ flights repatriating citizens from US

Colombia demanded a return to the procedure observed with Biden’s almost 500 repatriation flights to Colombia over four years, normal commercial airlines, Colombian citizens only, and no indignities like being sent in shackles in military craft. Trump folded like a house of cards and declared victory anyway.

Brazil is equally enraged with an American aircraft repatriation with people sent in shackles. The plane landed for an emergency at another airport in Brazil and authorities demanded the removal of the shackles.

I would probably rephrase that as:
"There are three fundamental illusions without which a democratic society can't function:"

The problem isn't that those things are lacking now... it's just that a lot more people have become painfully aware that they never have. Not among the majority or the people who actually shape policies and our economy.

I saw a comment about how the aircraft thing is just for show for the fools, because normal deportations, are on normal airlines, not military aircraft.

Trump just wants to look like a gigantic asshole for the asshole kissers.
