Put another way, he's like an exaggerated version of everything that was bad about presidents in my lifetime (or everything they were accused of).

1) More lascivious than Bill Clinton.

2) Much more authoritarian than George W. Bush.

3) Dumber than George W. Bush.

4) Bigger ego than Obama.

5) Creepier than George H. W. Bush.

6) More cognitive decline than Joe Biden.

7) More reckless than Reagan.

Little story I read about Obama.

Early in his first term women would go in in teams of two with they had something for the president's attention. First woman would make her case, and it would go in one ear and out the other in standard man fashion. Then the second woman would pick it up "Adding to what >name< was just talking about blah blah blah" and after a few of those Obama had a Come To Jesus moment and started listening to women.

Not sure where I was going with that but it came immediately to mind after point 4.

Yeah, I still have a very high opinion of Obama, but there are many credible antidotes of him having a bit of an ego. I even know a retired general who confirms some of these stories. Nobody's perfect. I like to think he's gotten better with age, but never met him myself. I certainly don't believe he was ever the raging narcissist that Republicans said he was.

Republicans have a lroblem with anyone superior to them, and Obama is like 1000x better than any Republican.

I am sure that seriously colored their views of him when he did anything.

Oh, I agree. Democrats are notoriously self loathing and Obama was proud. That comes off as narcissism to some people... Then the same people turned around and voted in Trump.

Narcissists point and scream 'NARCISSIST' when told no by a normal person with a backbone.

Yeah, I was just thinking that. NOBODY has less tolerance for someone else having a bit of pride than a narcissist... it's very much an example of "if you ran into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."

That's an awfully narrow definition of "done anything". His rhetoric alone has done plenty of harm, and he's had a disproportionate effect on the culture of this country compared to many other presidential winners still waiting for office.

To get back to the argument that started all this,

It's only a "catastrophic editorial judgment" if you consider Person of the Year to be some kind of good citizenship award, which it's not. The Time itself considers it "featuring a person, group, idea, or object that for better or for worse has done the most to influence the events of the year". And that's certainly Trump.
To underline this, in 1938 Time magazine chose Adolf Hitler as Man of the Year. I suppose after a nuclear holocaust they would select who launched the most destructive attack. If they were around to choose.

Anyone without it wouldn't run for office in the first place. And if they somehow did end up in office, the responsibilities would chew them up.
Well yes.... Obama had the balls to think he could be President as a pretty junior politician. AND INDEED HE DID! lol.

It's normal to run into assholes all day. Humans are assholes. I prefer running over them.

In 1938 Adolph Hitler was pretty popular with a sizable minority of the US population, particularly the America First movement and their supporters.
