They're wanting Bellisseria ones for the BelliHub too! They should have contacted some of the friendly knowledgeable enthusiastic Belli Girly Girls in the Bellisseria social groups already.
I saw some new Mentors at the Motown region opening, one of whom was one of those "friendly knowledgeable enthusiastic Belli Girly Girls in the Bellisseria social groups ", that I was expecting would eventually end up as a Mentor. Considering how fast she became one, I suspect LL has a few "short lists" of people that they'd really like to be mentors. Applications are closed, I just checked. I was going to apply today, and just say I would use the official viewer even if I don't. Though I'd also mention I could probably go to the trouble of getting the windows viewer working on Linux and log in my alt with it if I ever needed some detail about it I don't already now. After all, I did use LL viewers for years, even on Linux, until they stopped updating it.

Oh geez. Not the girly girl kind. They come off as so fake to me.

I would've applied but I already know they'd reject my app as soon as they see it even though I have an excellent track record in SL and all those years of experience with FS support*, not to mention all the CS call centers I've worked along with accounting, sales, QuickBooks tech support, processing legal documents etc.

*You do need to be knowledgeable about the official viewer to be effective.

Their circus, their show. I said for more than 2 cents what I thought about the new project on the other forums.
But it is up to the Lab to make it a success. And I wish them sincerely good luck with that. SL can use every new member it can get.

You should apply when/if they open up the applications again.

But are you a "Valley Girl"? 😋

I'm out of order right now. As soon as a find a little order in my life, I might think about it. ☺

If these are the same people who applied for Mentor new user retention is doomed. People are wary of cults...

There are two or three almost sickening LL fanboys/girls over there. And a few are member of the 'secret' forum police.
I don't think that they have applied as mentors. But who knows how many alts they have signed up.

My Mentors only wore their Mentor tags when they were conducting workshops. The rest of the time they helped people usually never having to mention that they had an official designation bestowed upon them by All Hail Linden Lab. Loki Pico, come to think of it, may have worn his tag publicly and I just couldn't see it behind the horns.

Next time let us know the link goes to that other forum. I don't even want to see it much less read anything on it anymore. That place is far more toxic than SLU ever was.

Please.

Reading there doesn't get you in trouble.
Posting is difficult over there, especially in the toxic periods like these days.
I've put myself on hold there yesterday.

Who said reading there will get anyone in trouble?

It's my personal choice. One that I made more than 2 years ago now. It's the same people now as it was back then so no thank you. I don't care to be treated like dogshit again.

Copied and past from the thread that runs on the SL forums:

Here is a summary of what is required if you want to get on board
- two hour shifts at a time and at least one shift each week
- training sessions that you must complete
- use of the Second Life viewer
These are deal breakers for me to becoming an "official" mentor. Still any poor soul that washes up at the End of Time with a box stuck on their hand will be welcomed and any assistance will be granted.

Jarod and I used to teach scripting lessons in Olive as well. We had a nice plot in the NE corner, that overlooked Slate to the east, and the Abyss to the north until Indigo was added and acquired by the Nightcrawlers (Flipper). Events were fun in those days, kind of like neighborhood socials, then it all got so big, so very big.

edit: it was Indigo rather than Magenta so FIFM

I'm still pretty much an idiot in SL and a terrible teacher so I wouldn't make a good mentor, but I still like to try to help people inworld, if that makes sense. Like, pointing them in the direction of stores or events or sims based on what they're looking for. I may even gift them something through MP to get them started.

My RL doesn't allow me the flexibility to be reliable or accountable for any actual position on SL, though.

It is still not forbidden to help each other in SL.
I'm always glad to help in SL, but I ain't gonna work shifts for free just to please LL.

Yeah, I might consider ot if they even just threw some L$ at the mentors. I mean that doesn't even technically cost them anything.
