Today's American "centrist" is just a conservative who's pretending to be a liberal anything but conservative.
Just for the sake of discussion, let's say 20% of welfare parents will spend all t he money on recreational drugs and not help their kids at all. That is a high figure based on the stats I could find. Does that mean we just tell the other 80% to go fuck themselves??? Manchin's stated reason is such obvious dogshit.

Yeah, even if Manchin were to be voted out over this (is he even running next time?), it's not like his successor will cross party lines to vote for a Democratic bill. And no matter how angry West Virginians may be over his opposition to BBB programs that would bring them some much needed aid, they won't vote for a true Democrat when election rolls around. And no real Democrat is going to make it through the primaries anyway. Because corruption.

Why did they create a false narrative that the legislation had to be “bipartisan” when everyone -- themselves included -- knew bipartisanship was impossible? Why did they say they couldn’t support changing...www.eurasiareview.com
