Republicans and Democrats Don’t Just Disagree About Politics. They Have Different Sexual Fantasies.

While self-identified Republicans and self-identified Democrats reported fantasizing with the same average frequency—several times per week—I found that Republicans were more likely than Democrats to fantasize about a range of activities that involve sex outside of marriage. Think things like infidelity, orgies and partner swapping, from 1970s-style “key parties” to modern-day forms of swinging. Republicans also reported more fantasies with voyeuristic themes, including visiting strip clubs and practicing something known as “cuckolding,” which involves watching one’s partner have sex with someone else.

By contrast, self-identified Democrats were more likely than Republicans to fantasize about almost the entire spectrum of BDSM activities, from bondage to spanking to dominance-submission play. The largest Democrat-Republican divide on the BDSM spectrum was in masochism, which involves deriving pleasure from the experience of pain.

NPR's Hidden Brain aired a segment titled Nature, Nurture, and Your Politics that argued some genetic predisposition to political views. We listened to it in the car on the way back from the Texas weekend before last. It seems inconclusive but is an interesting study.

Ohhhhhhh yeah. A more obvious projection was never uttered. I think this insult first came out of lonely incel like communities who felt cucked by the more popular guys. They then projected this onto the guys in relationships. I mean using it as an insult in a childish way, older uses of the word were more literal I think.

Then I think it was Richard Spencer who made this popular among right wingers because he probably has an interracial cuckolding fetish...

Why social media is friend to far-right politicians around the world contains a compilation of right wing uses of social media. The article attempts to correlate them into an indication of global democratic recession with statements such as

Donald Trump wants to Make American Great Again; Bolsonaro wants to bring back Brazil’s military dictatorship; Shinzo Abe wants to recapture Japan’s imperial past; Germany’s AFD performed the best with older East German voters longing for the days of authoritarianism. All of these leaders promise to close borders, to make things safe. Which will, of course, usually exacerbate the problems they’re promising to disappear. Another feedback loop.

I wouldn't go so far as to say 'i loathe bsdm', objectively I'm neutral towards it. But subjectively.. it's a total mood killer. In sex, if the power dynamic shifted too far one way or the other, it made me profoundly uncomfortable. Even if only in roleplay.

I think the reason why the terms "incel" and "cuck" aren't as effective in the left, is because conservative men measure their success by how successfully they can bag and or keep a woman whose physical attributes are way way out of their class. They're fighting over a tiny percentage of all women and belittling those who fail at it. They would rather show off a psychologically damaged beauty pageant contestant than partner with a rational human being they could relate to.

I'd like to think that liberal/progressive men are more interested and turned on by finding a compatible and equal partner, more than one who merely looks amazing but contributes little else to a relationship. If someone on the left is turned on by watching their partner with someone else, and their partner enjoys humoring that, huzzah! So glad they found each other! Yay for them!

But, in my opinion, If you're "involuntarilly celibate" on the left, it's only because you're not thinking progressively enough.
